Do I have a chance in Mother/Baby
Okay, I finally got a job in Neuroscience!!!! To be honest I really don't like Neuro like that...I am just waiting for my year to be over with...I really have a passion for Mother/Baby...do you guys think that I can easily transition from Neuro to Mother/Baby? And do you think that I should stay in Neuro for more than a year to build my experience up? (I really don't want to...lol) Thanks in advance for comments and advice

I do agree that there is a hiring freeze here in North Carolina because I have graduated in May '08..and still can not find a job..I have applied numerous times at Rex and still can't get on!!! So YES there is a hiring freeze...hoping and praying that WakeMed would allow me in their New Graduate program!!! It's really hard out here right now!!!!

need to retake NCLEX in NC - confused !!
Hello I am from North Carolina...I have failed the test only one time...In North Carolina you can retake the exam in 45 days..so you can take the test on the 46th day!!!!You are going to have to reapply to Pearson Vue which is $200 and you are going to have to apply to North Carolina BON which is $45..I think!!! They will send you packet in the mail!!! Best of Luck to you!!! I know that you can do it because I did it!!!!! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me or even through Private Message!!!

WakeMed
I am sorry for asking so many questions..but where do you get a job packet from?
-
WakeMed
Thanks for the information!!!! I applied for five positions..but I am really interested in the Intensive Care Nursery..but I don't know how to let them know that I am really interested in the Nursery..how can I find out about the nurse manager's e-mail address? Since I already pass my exam, do you think it will be a little easier to get a job at WakeMed?

WakeMed
I applied for 5 jobs but I am very interested in the Intensive Care Nursery-New Fellows...I just applied to other ones just in case I do not get selected for NICU...how do you like working at WakeMed?

WakeMed

WakeMed
Hello to All, I applied to five new grad position at WakeMed...I am in sorta in a dilemma....I took my NCLEX in November....I waited until January to apply to WakeMed because I heard it was a great hospital to work at...now I am hearing that I have to wait until July until the program starts...I don't know if I should get a part time job until this program starts...I know this is going to sound strange but I feel such like a failure....I can't find anything..I don't know if it is the economy or what? I am so eager and ready to learn...I am getting so tired of trying to find a job...I am also tired of sitting at home...I really didn't want to apply to Duke and/or Chapel Hill because I am a single mother and if something happens to my child I want to be close to home...I also wanted to know how long did it take for them to review and process your application? I applied January 8..I would thought that since I already have my RN# it would be a little more easier!!! but i guess not I greatly appreciate your advice...if needed you can PM me

Why is it so hard?
Thanks for your advice...I understand what you are talking about...I just hate to do my time on a Med-Surg floor...but sometimes you have to do what you have to do..

Why is it so hard?
I am a New Graduate Nurse....i passed in November '08......I have applied in several locations for a Labor & Delivery, NICU, and Mother/Baby....and everytime I always get "not selected for this position"....why is it so hard to get into this speciality? I really want to get into this paticular speciality....I have a passion for this...but I just can't seem to get my foot into the door!!! What can I do? P.S. I have had my licence since in November...and I have been sitting around doing nothing....I have tried diffrent floors and still can't get on...I know some places for considering hiring "New Graduate Nurses" until January...
