How come you guys have a hard time getting activated. My NOSC is actually asking people if they want to volunteer to deployed.

I am planning to challenge the LVN/LPN also. Does Virginia have such program. I know California does.

I'm not an RN but I used to moonlight in ED as a Phlebotomist for a long time. It was fun. I got to know all nurses, doctors, and even the security guard. I have always like ED even when I used to work for Children's Hospital. I still work for the VA as Patient Services Assistant, I deal with all the complaints there is. Sometimes I feel like the Patient Advocate dealing with the issues they are calling about. Still, I enjoy every bit of my job. Many of the Vets actually request for me when they need help. Like you said before, its what you like about your job not what the job does for you.

You are basically dealing with VETERANS Patients only. Many of the Patients are geriatric, substance abuse, homeless, and what not. If you like excitement ED is the place. Always the same issue, not like typical ED in civilian world were you deal with different type of patients, from newborn to what not.

You can also start volunteering in the hospital. If you like children, you can volunteer at Children's hospital. Also you can join Sea Cadet. They have nice programs to what you want to do when you graduate from high school.

Take it one day at a time. Try 5 kids, Full time job, going to school for master program and in the Navy Reserve. Yes, I have time with my kids and husband.:bugeyes:

:DHi Orchid, I'm a Career Counselor Assistant in my reserve unit in San Diego. Well calling did not work, you can also try the navyreserve.com, a lot of information there too. If that doesn't work also, email me. When you finally get a recruiter, make sure he/she gives you some type of incentives. Like a bonus and or if you have a student loan the Navy will pay for it. The only thing about that you have to signed up for 8 years or more. AND ask lots of questions. Many of them don't tell you the fine line unless you ask. virgo:wink2:
