  1. I have had job offers yanked out from underneath me after figuring out I was a reservist...it's justh hard to prove. I find that most managers think of nurses as expendible....most recently my boss just tried to make me use vacation for my AT training. Good Luck it is hard.....Its also hard to prove and hard to figure out if you want to burn that bridge or try to play nice.
  2. I am going up for my second identifier, the 8A ICU identifier, according to HRC people need to review my paperwork. Oh and I am also up for promotion in Jan. but its automatic 2nd to 1st. Second, yes I have been going up my chain of my command. I am a reservist in a backfill unit. Nobody seems to know anything. Any suggestions?
  3. yah i know there are a lot of incentives for deployment. Im having a heck of a time trying to deploy. THanks
  4. Hello all, I am wanting to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan. I was wondering if anyone had any great contacts? My 8A packet is going in front of the board shortly. I also have my CCRN. I have always wanted to deploy, and my unit is usually backfill stateside, which I dont want. I also want to know are there any incentives for deploying, like schools? Thanks Lt Leathers
  5. I am in the Army Reserve as a nurse, also wanting to go to airborne. I think the only way I can get this if I haggle for it? I only signed up for 3 years, maybe after that is done to keep me in? Does anyone have any ideas? I also want to deploy ASAP, I have been in for 18 months, and would really like the experience. I would rather volunteer for deployment than get deployed somewhere I don't want to go. I want to deploy pref. to Iraq or Afghanistan. I have also volunteered through HRC. Does anyone have any great contacts? Thanks Jennifer Leathers, RN CCRN
