  1. Thanks for your quick response! My interview is Monday and I've been perusing the web (as well as stalking the company's website) for more information. I'll be primarily giving shots, but the RN I spoke with over the phone said there's LOTS of paperwork, which I don't mind too much as long as I'm learning. SNF is so daunting for a new grad. 32 patients to 1 RN and I only had 1 week of training. I feel like I am drowning every day. I hope this allergy clinic will be a better step in my nursing career.
  2. I just got my rejection email from Legacy. Oh well. At least they informed me. Have a good weekend everyone :)
  3. Did you ever find any resources? I am a new grad as well and am currently working at a SNF. I have an interview with an allergy clinic on Monday and am wondering what the work is like.
  4. For everyone who got a second interview, are you currently working? I wonder if that makes a difference in whether or not you are chosen. I too had a second interview and thought it went REALLY well. I interviewed for the same floor as I did my senior immersion. I am currently working at a SNF in Tigard. Wonder if that makes a difference. Oh well...as long as we don't have a years experience by the next go round, we can try again :)
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is awesome!!!
  6. Don't give up! A friend of mine encouraged me to call and I'm so glad I did. She said that one of her friends got in 2 days before the program's start. Evidently, some people don't get all their immunization and other paperwork in on time. Good luck!!!
  7. I GOT IN!! I got the call yesterday. I'm no longer on the wait list!! I start this June :)
  8. Wow! the waitlist is 40-50 students deep?? I've lost all hope
  9. OMG! The instructor for mine absolutely did NOT teach! I felt like I was taking an online course and teaching myself. I ran through several highlighters 'cause all we did was highlight the whole stinkin' book! Avoid him at all cost!
  10. I'm not sure if she's teaching microbiol this summer, but my instructor in that class: I LOVED her!! She gives you the Powerpoint to study from and her exams are easy. I learned A LOT from her. If you receive an A on everything throughout the quarter, you're exempt from the final. The only project you have to do is identifying an unknown and writing a paper about it. She loves what she does (she also works at OHSU) and it shows in her teaching. Good luck!
  11. I got my letter today. I got waitlisted Oh well...
  12. I am anxiously awaiting their response as well. Does anyone know how many are accepted into their ABSN program?
  13. Yes, I applied to the accelerated program. They gave me the same speech as last year. Most of the applicants that were accepted had a Master's or better and the average GPA is 3.75. They had 480 applicants this year for 45 spots. The way I see it, if you haven't heard from them yet, you probably have a good chance of getting in. I'm sure they weed out the denials first.
  14. I did hear from OHSU last weekend. I did not get in. I kinda knew it was coming, but rejection still sucks every time. My overall GPA is 3.5, not the 3.75 they want and I don't have a Master's degree. I didn't get picked for the PCC lottery either. But I did get wait listed at U of P. I'm still awaiting news from Linfield. I hear you find out around April 23rd. Good luck!!
