  1. I stayed out over 10 years revoked in TX and now live in MS. I am now under 30 days of my 3year contract. Determination gets you through. Congrats it can be done. I haven’t one regret returning to nursing
  2. I also work for fresenius in MS and I do have a felony conviction and am currently working under restrictions. They hired me this way so I bet they will keep you especially if your a good nurse 😀
  3. I have been attending Celebrate recovery for close to 5 years now. I currently serve as co-leader of the group at my church. I came to CR sober but no where near recovered. It is only because of CR and my personal relationship with Christ that I was able to deal with the shame and guilt of my past. I stayed out of nursing over 10 years because of it the support of my forever family at CR I was able to approach the board to event ask for a second chance. I am currently back working as an RN and am forever grateful for the continuing support I have found at Celebrate Recovery meetings
  4. I Got a job!!!! I start Monday 4/11 I will be working hemodialysis and could not be more grateful! This has been a very long journey I sincerely hope that others will find encouragement. I know that God's faithfulness in my life and the encouragement of an awesome support network is the only reason that for the first time in 14 years Monday I get to return to nursing!!!
  5. I joined this forum in 2008, I spent hours reading threads just hoping I would find one that would give me hope and encouragement that yes it is possible to be a nurse again. In 2002 I was arrested and sent to federal prison as a result of a life spun out of control from meth addiction. I surrendered my RN license and began the process of serving my time, getting sober and picking up the pieces of a way messed up life. I have never given up and I now have years of sobriety behind me. I was reinstated in 2013 in TX but now live in MS. 10/16/2015 I was granted an active RN license by endorsement to practice in MS. I finally get to practice again!!! I know my story may not be the norm but just wanted to post it is possible just for anyone needing encouragement. I am fortunate to have a group of great supporters and nurses in my community willing to help me find employment. It is possible!
  6. I don't know how to send a personal message or how to read one either? I finally recruited help with asking for the letters I need. I even sent 2 off today to former co-workers and charge nurses. The only trouble getting thigs together has been me. I have had a break and I am ready to face the music again. you said to Pm you for more information. sorry i don't know how
  7. That Is Wounderful. Things Are Looking Up

I also have been working at a non-nursing job and have been for 3 years. I started as a short order cook and now have an office job I really enjoy. As my self-esteem has improved so have my jobs. I look forward to nursing again one day but everyday working brings me one day closer to re-turning to nursing. congrates and well wishes
  9. I can't yet e-mail but would love to hear more encouraging information. thank you so mucj
  10. Thank you so much. I will go ahead and contact the peer program here in the state where I live. I have just a few more letters to collect and I'll submit by application very soon. thanks again.
  11. I am just beging to process of re-instatement (gathering of letters and documentation etc.) I was licensed in Tx but now live in another state. I am not clear how to proceed. I know I need to address my primary state BON first but is there any need at this point to contact the state I am currently living in and where I want to eventually work and will need to be involed in? I want to make sure to do things in the correct order and be as pre-pared as possible from the begining.
  12. Maybe I did not word things correctly?? I did not intend to ask something I was not suppose to. I really just want to know if there is anyone out there in my shoes that has ever been succesful re-instating with this similar background. I am having trouble getting my paper work together only because I am afraid of rejection. I have worked really hard at restorting my life with family and friends and my personal identity that digging back into this is a little shakey. I would be so encouraged just to know that it has and can be done. That is all I am looking for. Every one wants to know why I haven't persued gettting my liscense back the real reason is I am afraid I will find out I never will and not knowing is better than a no.
  13. HI, Not sure how to start but that is where I am at "the start". I am getting my paper work together to petition for re-instatment after a drug arrest and federal incarcertion. RN licencse from TX. Sober for 5 years now. I am having trouble going through with the process of just submitting everything to ask for the hearing. Seems hopless???? Has anyone dealt with the Texas board on this type of issue? Any Advice?? I realize the re-instatment is just half the battle. This is a personal goal now. I have a great non-nursing job but I love nursing and so want to go back. Advice encouragment please.
