  1. I had to take the HESI also as an exit exam. There is actually a book from HESI/REACH that is a NCLEX review. Alot of students in my program used the book and found it helpful. I purchased mine through the barnes and noble website. We had people fail the HESI and pass the boards and 2 people who passed the HESI the first time failed the NCLEX. Good Luck!:nuke:
  2. Hi Crys. I just took my NCLEX-PN in Ohio on October 10th. My one suggestion to you would be to schedule it as soon as possible. I was the first one to take the test out of the first graduating class of my school and was a nervous wreck for the week between receiving my ATT and actually taking the test. After the test I realized that it wouldn't have mattered what I studied, because I still wouldn't have studied the right stuff. I walked out of the testing center in a daze, sure that I had failed. Called my fellow students and whined and cried about it! I was only in there for an hour and twenty minutes and about 93 to 95 questions. I was mad when the stupid computer shut down! Come to find out that I passed. Yeah me! Every fellow student that I've spoken with has felt the same way. So far 6 of us have passed and only one has had more than 100 questions. She actually had 205 and cried the whole way home, sure that she had failed. I think that you will find that this test is not like anything you've ever seen before, in a good way. You can do it!!!!
  3. I say go for it ASAP! I got into a BSN program before I even took state boards for my PN. I'm always tired, but I know myself well and felt that if I didn't stay the course I would never get my masters which is the ultimate goal. By the way I turn 36 in 2 weeks. This is my second career. Good luck.
  4. Thank you. I am just now starting my job hunt and am looking for $20 plus an hour. One girl I graduated with is starting out at $23 per hour. The program lasted for 1 year, a very long year! I honestly drove one hour each way. After the first quarter it wasn't bad, because it wasn't everyday. For some of the clinical sites I drove well over an hour though.
  5. Hi there. I recently graduated from Athena Career Academy. I was part of their first graduating class. I also recently passed the NCLEX-PN in Ohio. Yes it is more expensive than the other LPN schools in the area, but you do get in right away, which is why I went there. I don't know what else to tell you, but let me know if you have any specific questions. Good luck!
