  1. No, I no longer work there..unfortunately a horrible administration later took over and it was too much to handle. I currently work for a pediatric home health care company that I LOVE and am working on my BSN
  2. Mume2mykids, I live in the delaware valley myself.Originally from Philly, I live in northern DE and I actually had to travel to Maryland to find a job. I don't know about S. Jerz but I know northern DE has NOTHING so broaden your search a little. From what I hear Philly has LOTS of jobs..I just hate the traffic...Hope this helps!(Go EAgLes!!)
  3. So today was the day.I just graduated 9/08..passed boards 11/16/08 and today I started working! I found a GREAT job at a GREAT facility(ccrc or retirement community). My coworkers are nice. The nurse that oriented me treated me to lunch today. Now, one may think that I don't have much to compare to(which is true)..BUT..the places where I had my clinicals were nothing like this place. It smelled nice, people are friendly and introduced themselves, very laid back. My mother who is an RN said that if you go to a place and you really feel like you BELONG there, then you probably do.Not to say that there won't be craziness going on at times (hey, nowhere's perfect)but I just feel like I made a great choice...so as to how my day went.Paperwork, tour, policy & procedures,paperwork,lunch,paperwork.lol.I will have orientation for about the next month which is really good because I am a new nurse.I don't have much of a story today..but I will probably write back again and share how my first day ALONE has gone. Thanks for Listening!!
  4. No offense taken!!Thanks to both of you guys!
  5. Thank you for your explanation! But I am SOoOoO not the "bragging"type. actually when I went in for the interview my aunt was telling her co-worker "hey look this is my neice".I wanted to cringe.lol.I'm very private. But yes just by the sound of thing I think I'll go for the first job.But I am still interested in attending the interview just to hear what they'll say because ya never know.
  6. Well I know i'm new but I still don't quite understand the differences between a non union and union job(I know)But that is something to take into consideration!
  7. Hello everyone, I'm a new LPN..not even a month old(LOL)..but I have this dilema.Ok so for the first few weeks it seemed impossible for me to find a job due to lack of experience but now I was offered a position in another state just waiting for the temp license in that state to become active and I was told I could start. The pros to this job are my aunt is director of HR and another aunt is the one who schedules.I work no weekends, benefits are Great, after a year I will be put on a wknd program in which I can work sat & sun 12 hr shift and get paid for 36 hours which is good while I'm in school, this particular facility has so many diverse patients that I will gain a ton of experience, it's a union Job and the pay is not bad for a new grad. The cons are its 11-7(urgh) and the drive is about a hour away..Now the second job.I have an interview scheduled for next week so I don't know too much now but the distance in only a half hour away and the facility is more laid back and the shift is 3-11(which is my 1st pick).I know I don't have this job yet and just going in for the interview however I just want some advice as to how to decide!!
  8. Yay!! just found out today after almost 2 week wait that I passed!!now time to celebrate!!:nurse:I'm a nurse!
  9. good luck!!Let me know how everything turns out!
  10. Thanks Meli and graeyze...I appreciate it greatly..I think the nervousness is starting to kick in. I know you can't tell by how many questions you get (my test stopped at 85) but i swear I read EVERY single thread of people who stopped at 85/75 and VERY few did not pass with the minimum amount and honestly I don't feel that I did horribly...also, I just found out that the state that I live in doesn't participate in quick results however the results are posted in about 24-48 hours.uuhhh, this is the WORST!!
  11. I definitly will let you all know the results!!
  12. Ok,I'm just getting back home!!! I started the test around 7:50am and finished at exactly 9:00.The computer shut off at 85 questions!I don't feel negative. I think the test was pretty straight forward. But there's still that what if...I don't really know how to feel though,I just can't wait to find out my results. Please everyone keep me in your prayers. I need it!
  13. Ok,this is the day!!!I only got about 5 hours of sleep. I feel so anxious right now, I just wanna get this thing over with!I will write back when I get home to let you all know how my experience turned out...Wish me Luck!
  14. Thanks everyone!!!I'm trying my hardest to keep the books closed today:-)..hehehe
  15. Thanks Meli, I'm checking it out now...and I'll "attempt" to eat.lol
