  1. Just curious - What is the FCCA?
  2. I just finished my last exam - CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature. I passed (got an 80 out of 80 - I was so shocked!!) and am now officially done with all of my Excelsior credits. It was kind of anticlimatic to pass the CPNE and then have to take one more test. I really don't recommend that to anyone who could avoid doing it that way. It would have been much nicer to pass the CPNE and be done. I am enjoying the feeling of relief for a few days then I guess I better start the NCLEX process!
  3. If you are talking about Lynn's workshop based in Charlotte, North Carolina, that is the first workshop that I took. I went to her Charlotte classroom and did the full three day program. This was how I started to prepare for the CPNE. I read the entire study guide one time then I attended her workshop and it was very helpful to me in breaking down the study guide and helping me understand what I needed to study and learn because I was very overwhelmed at first. I studied for three months then I took the Excelsior workshop to validate that I was ready for my CPNE and I was very happy with that workshop. I had no prior hospital experience so I felt I needed extra help in preparing for the CPNE. Depending on your work experience, you may not need these workshops at all. They really helped me understand what was expected of me and took away a lot of the fear and unknowns.
  4. I passed my CPNE in Utica, New York last weekend. It was a wonderful test site. I am so glad that I specifically chose Utica as my test site. If any of you will be testing there in the future, I can try to answer any questions you have about that test site from my experience. It really helps to take away any unknowns that you can to help reduce the stress!!
  5. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! Why didn't I see that? Must be the nerves. Can you think of any other possible nursing diagnoses for a bariatric post op patient if they don't have pain?
  6. Thanks You very much for putting my mind at ease,:wink2:. any other suggestions if they have just been medicated.
  7. The hospital where I will be taking my CPNE does a lot of bariatric surgeries. I have been having trouble writing my practice care plans. I am used to writing Acute pain r/t tissue trauma for post-op patients but I know from a friend who had this surgery that the pain is not so much from the small incisions but from the gas. How would I write that correctly? Acute pain r/t ____________???? Does anyone have any other good ideas for appropriate nursing diagnoses for these patients who have their procedure on Friday and are discharged on Sunday? Thank you all so much for any help you can give me since I leave tomorrow for my CPNE!!
  8. Thank you so much for your good advice. I also took the excelsior workshop and think it was worth every penny. Hopefully it pays off and I will pass my CPNE like you did!!!
  9. Can anyone who has recently taken the CPNE please tell me what your IV push med amounts and times were and what your IV drip rates were? I want to be sure that I am practicing some realistic amounts. Thank you very much. Only two weeks to go until I test!!!!
  10. Thank you very much. I am in the United States and hope to be testing next spring so I will plan on $200 in my budget.
  11. Hi, Sounds like you did your best. You should be fine. I will be taking the NCLEX-RN soon. Does anyone know what the cost is? Also, Does Pearson charge for administering the exam? Thanks for any help.
  12. I have been reading so many suggestions. It seems like a lot of people recommend "Saunder's". Could anyone tell me the full title of this book so I can order it? Thank you.
