  1. Megan, First off, good luck in the application process! I hope to see you next year on campus. We did not use NursingCAS when we applied - in fact I had to google it haha. If you want to know my stats that got me accepted then give me a private message and I'll be happy to tell you. What you heard about UCD is not true. Our clinical rotations are not "horrible" and in fact we precept longer than anyone. There are a few things that we are not allowed to do as students, but at UCDMC no student is allowed to do those same things regardless of what school they are from. With any school though you must be in charge of your own clinical training - jump in and practice your skills or learn new ones when you can. And about not being hired - the job market is just not very good right now, but a classmate was hired at UCD recently. Their reason for not hiring students before had nothing to do with training, but I can elaborate in private.
  2. Actually I guess I can't pm until I have more posts, but feel free to message me your email and I'll get back to you :)
  3. Thank you and it's no problem. I'll message you :)
  4. I got into the FNP program. It certainly is a relief to not have to worry about apps or interviews anymore. I just wish school were starting already haha.
  5. Hello! I start at SMC in Sacramento in January. I was accepted a couple of days after my interview so maybe you'll accept my pointers I wouldn't worry about the NET. It really isn't that bad. If you made it through college then you probably won't have a problem. The math is pretty easy if you have a science background, so if you feel like reviewing you may want to focus on English more. I didn't study and I still did fine. As far as your GPA goes, I wouldn't stress too much about it. There are many other things they look at when considering an applicant. My GPA wasn't stellar but I had plenty of letters and experience to make up for that. I took the GRE as well so I think that helped. For the goal statement I was just honest. I didn't invest a lot of time worrying about making it "perfect". I just stated what I wanted to do and why (story time). If you guys have any questions feel free to ask.
  6. Yessss classmates finally! I've been waiting a long time to find out who got in. Any of you guys have facebook?
