  1. Cumulative GPA: 2.89 Grades: Anatomy: C (currently retaking hopefully average to B) Physiology: C Chemistry: C Microbiology: Retaking Pyschology: B English: B ... As you can see I don't have great grades. In fact I have horrible grades and I feel like I've dug myself into a hole and can't get out. I am currently going to CSULB and with tuition increasing (now $2000+/semester) and the time I have been here, I feel like I'm...screwed literally. I know to be safe in getting a spot in the school's BSN program you need to have at least a 3.4 (cummul.) and I believe B average in core classes (the 4 sciences) and good TEAS score is helpful. However I don't meet that criteria. I don't know what to do now.................... My future is looking dim and I'm sad to say I have wasted my time and money. :banghead::banghead::banghead: I just got my nursing assistant cert this summer but I suppose that won't help getting into a ADN or BSN program. I've already thought about the LVN route but that is expensive. $20,000 is the cheapest I could find. I thought about private school too (Mt. St Mary's College...). But the issue is if I will even be considered any where with my grades. I plan to takes TEAS in December. I will be buying a TEAS help book now to prepare. My motivation is at an all time low.. There really is no one else I can talk to this about. Friends just say, "don't worry you'll get in" or "you'll be fine..." Any advice would be nice. Thank you for reading.
  2. I think you mean CNA to RN bridge program? Hmm, I don't think there's such a thing. I KNOW there are CNA-LVN programs but CNA to RN? I'm saying this assuming you meant CNA and not CMA. But yes, WCU does offer the LVN-RN program, but a lot of different places offer that as well including community colleges, Cal States, and other private schools. So you might want to look around and see which option is best for you.
  3. What is a typical class session like? From the limited things a friend told me, it's basically M-F, 8-2. And school is continuous every week until you're done with the entire program. What I mean from a typical class session is how much material do you cover in a day. Or I should say, how many different subjects do you cover in terms of Anatomy, Physio, Micro..and also fundamental courses.
  4. Just think of it as an investment. I know you're talking about LPN, but there's a private school I know of that offers a BSN program and it costs $116,000. Yup, six figures. It makes $20,000 look a lot "cheaper" doesn't it? Maybe if you are qualified, grants and financial aid might lower your overall costs.
  5. Is that per semester/year/ or the entire program?
  6. Thank you both for the advice. I already have a private college in mind but I will definitely continue the path I started. If it's something I really want, then I'm going to have to stick with it. It's really a boost for me to read your responses and I just wanted to say thank you
  7. Almost everyone I know is trying to get into the nursing program. Well, not everyone, but i can name a lot! It's great to see the enthusiasm of people wanting to go to nursing school but at the same time I feel like, "Major in something else, you're lowering my chances of getting in!" Well, I don't really tell people that, but I sometimes I want to! I'm not exactly talented, but I really try hard to do good in my prerequisites. I currently have a GPA of 2.79. Actually I brought it up from 2.5 but that's still far to what I need to get in. I'm not one to give up easily, or change majors, because my heart has always been to go to nursing school even before I started college. This semester I am taking Micro and 3 other fillers. I still need Anatomy, and maybe Statistics for a school that requires it. But I have received Cs in Physiology and Chemistry. It's hard to keep myself to keep myself motivated especially since I've spent 2 going onto 3 years on pre-reqs and there's no certainty of getting into a nursing program. Anyone feel the same way?
