  1. I have a question...I work in the ER, and occasionally we get pt from home/nursing homes, whatever that are on hospice. I recently had a pt that was hospice, but was a full code. Is this becoming more common? Thanks.
  2. i agree with you 100%!! it irritates me to no end when i'm walking out of the room of an unsuccessful code, only to come face to face with the irate family of a pt that is in the ER for "yucky eye drainage" x 2 hours PTA, wanting to know why they haven't seen me in there room for the past 30 minutes, and why that other pt was more important than they are. Ugh.

I will never look at rice the same again.. lol...give me blood and guts any day, but keep the bugs away!! :)
  4. ok, evidently, you've never worked in the ER, or any area that has a nursing shortage..most days/nights we are doing good to have enough nurses to take care of the patients..have a dedicated discharge nurse?? haha..thats funny.
  5. what exactly did you consider "almost dying"??
  6. At the hospital ER that i work in, we add phenergan and demerol to a 50cc bag of NS and infuse in that way. The patients have less irritation at the IV site and none have ever complained of burning while it was being administered. As for IV toradol, I've never had anyone complain of buring while administering it.
