  1. I keep hearing there is "tons" of money out there for nursing students. That there are companies out there that just have money sitting in accounts for the right students. Umm..where? I've looked and everything either seems like fraud or it's for hispanics, native americans, or african americans.:yldhdbng: I'm a poor, SMART, white, 1st generation college student and I need some help! haha.. I just found out from my school that they don't qaulify for financial aid because they are a vocational school..? I don't see the difference.. if the student doesn't have money for school..well, they don't have money for school.. any ideas would greatly appreciated...THANK YOU! :heartbeat
  2. Hey everyone :) I am applying to the LVN program that Grossmont's ROP school offers and I'm a little concerned with the drug test. I am concerned on wither there is a hair test or not. I know I will test clean for a urine test due to the fact that I gave up smoking mary jane over a year and a half ago (when I decided to go back to school and start nursing), but I DID smoke 2 years ago and someone told me that the hair test can go back as far as 3 years?! Did anyone take the grossmont drug test? Was it just urine or was it also a hair test? I would hate to think I've totally cleaned up and I'm going to be crucified for something I did 2-3 years ago... thnx
  3. Hello everyone :) I'm currently a CNA student at Grossmonth Health Occupational and will be applying in November to their LVN program. I wanted to see if there is any current or grad students of the LVN program @ Grossmont? If so, how difficult was it for you get in? Do you feel certain things helped or hurt your application? Such as experience, community service, etc.? How difficult is the Teas really? I am the top student in my class, but is that going to make a difference with the Tease? I feel like I'm going into the test so blind and would hate to miss the boat when I've been working so hard. Thank you :) Any input is greatly appreciated.
  4. Ahh.. the tattoo talk. I am currently a CNA and I'm in full sleeves and I also have knuckle tattoos. I am 24 and was on a completely opposite direction with my life before deciding to go into nursing 6 months ago. Being a person that is heavily tattooed I understand I accept the responsibilites of the choices I've made and I also accept both warm and cold judgements from people. I can't take them off nor would I. They are a part of who I am and tell a story of my life. I have however taken a vow to myself to be the best student I can possibly be and work towards being an even better nurse. We all come from different backgrounds, tastes, roads and beliefs and thank god! Whatever is going to happen is going to happen. To be completely honest.. I'm far more concerned about what attitude I am going to be recieving from my fellow nurses once I'm out on the field then I am about the patients..
  5. wow.. i don't think i'm going to appreciate another thread on this site more than this thread right here..
