  1. Yes i am. Standing out- it really all comes down to how confident you are, how well youve researched their program, why you would pick their program over others and know some basic ICU stuff. But really confidence plays a big big role.
  2. I started at 24 and was 26 when I graduated. Eek.
  3. I did get accepted into the program. This website was very useful for me when i was applying and i wished there were more people to offer more insight. So here i am, giving back. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Please dont PM me, just put it out there so everyone can get the info.

  8. Hey Goldenatom, Yeah the interviews seemed pretty laid back to me as well! Kinda nice for them to wean us in rather than just start shooting qsns. What makes you feel they already made their decision before hand? I am not sure what you mean....but i sorta felt that way too towards the end of the interview..
  9. Hey, so yeah i actually start next week in the icu. As far as i know they are still in the hiring process and not sure about exact dates but the didactic classes start feb 15th- so im guessing they should let people know in the next couple of weeks. Goodluck. Message me if you get in.
  10. Ugh right! well sleep well- only 12 hours more.. goodluck!
  11. Thanks! Springbaybee, where did you take your exam? i took mine in Milpitas, CA

  16. thank you Juan. I have actually been offered a clinical nurse 1 position and not a CNL position. Do you know what my options would be? I mean what would an RN have to do, if they had all their education here- are there any other options? because i know i wont be hired as a CNL right away
  17. Dear suzanne, could you please provide me with some more information on this. I am graduating this year as MSN, CNL and will be on OPT for a year till jan 2012. I got offered a position at UCI med. I am not sure what the process is now, what happens after the OPT is over? what do i have to ask employers to do? Is it H1b visa now? basically how can you extend your work period past the 12 months? thank you so much!
  18. Can someone please tell me how this process works? I got offered an ICU position at UC irvine and i will graduate in jan with an OPT F1 visa valid to work for 12 months. How do i extend this? do i have to apply for H1B or H1C? does the employer have to do this? thankyou all

  21. Hi Cbacheld, Thank you for all the pointers! is there any more feedback you can give as to how you went about talking for the ICU position. I am really interested in the ICU as well. Did managers ask you any sort of interview questions? I am coming from california, so hopefully i can get some valuable contacts. How does it work? do managers just sit and tables and people just flock to them? haha. Sorry i have no clue what to expect. THankyou!
  22. Thanks Jen, thats what i figured! but i take my nclex second week of november and dont want to wait till then to apply to the program. Would you be knowing when the application closes? Im confused, i really want to apply today but i dont want HR to reject me from the get-go for not having the license section filled out! eek
  23. hey guys, i have a quick question= do you need to have your RN license before applying for the new grad position? I am applying for the 2011 program. Any insights?
  24. Hey everyone, can you please tell me where to find this online status of "routed" and "received" and all of that. I am asking is because i just faxed all the documents required to Seton Austin and didnt do it online- please assist
  25. I had a quick question- when you say supplemental materials- do you mean the personal statement asking you why u want to be a nurse and all that? When do we submit that? As a cover letter? or you send that after you submit your general app? Thankyou people. gluck
