Taking a Pay Cut
I have all my prereqs done. I've been on the waiting list for 3 years. My number will be called soon. I worked in the OR before for a short amount of time but some personal issues came up and I had to leave the job. I loved the job! I know nursing is what I want to do... I just wonder if taking that big of a pay cut is worth the struggle. Not to mention my other issue is working while in the nursing program and my bills... everything seems to be working against me.

Taking a Pay Cut
i should clarify... I'm not a Nurse yet. This is a position at the hospital similar to a CNA but without the certification.

Taking a Pay Cut
I currently work in an office setting in the Automotive industry. I've been on the Nursing waitlist for 3 years now and my number will be called soon! YAY! I've been trying to get my foot in the door and finally was offered a position in the OR at a major hospital in my area. I make good money now... almost $17/hr and i know moving into another field would be a paycut, however the offer they came back with was $10/hr. I was hoping for $12. I'm a single mother... I can't afford to live off $10/hr. I weighed the pros and cons and honestly the only con is the money! I am miserable at my current job and the new position would earn me so much experience and learning to help with my future as a nurse. What should I do? I asked if the pay was negotionable and the HR lady is "looking" into it.

Skyridge Medical Center - Daycare
Hello, I read on Skyridge's website that they offer a daycare center for hospital employees. Does anyone work here? If so, what is the cost of the day center?

Can't find a cosigner...
I applied to Sallie Mae for a Tution Answer loan. I was approved but they said I need a cosigner. I cannot find anyone to cosign. There are very limited people I know with good credit and those who have it do not want to cosign. It scares people I guess. Does anyone have any other options? I can't get enough through the gov. so I need a private loan. What do I do if I can't get a cosigner? I have good credit so I am not sure what the issue is.

I'm seriously considering quitting my job and going to school full time. I am not opposed to working part time, but I do not want to work full time anymore while going to school. Has anyone quit their decent paying job to do so? Was it rough? How prepared were you? What kind of assistance did you get? yadda yadda yadda :) Any info is appreciated! OOps.. I see I spelled "their" wrong in the title... brain fart!

Employer told everyone results of my TB test!
Her employer did violate her right to confidentiality regaurding her health. What I would do is go to the meeting, but prepare your own powerpoint about what a postive TB test means! Mine ALWAYS comes out postive, but my chest xray is always negative. The reaction I have is horrific, but I don't have TB The thing is if everyone were required to have a PPD done there would be more reactions than people realize. He shouldn't be calling a meeting about it. What you need to do is educate your coworkers because I guarnatee your boss will not know half the info you will on the subject.

Single Mom, Quit Work to Go to School Full Time, possible?
I live in Colorado. I will have to pay for childcare (or find some) while I'm in school. My family is in a hardship right now and can't help me much. I'm going to call the financial aid office tomorrow and start there. I'm jsut nervous about quitting and having enough money. I have rent, car payment, insurance, bills, etc. I need to make sure are covered. I know in the long run it will be totally worth it! I've just got to make the first jump :)

Single Mom, Quit Work to Go to School Full Time, possible?
Hello! I will be a single mom at the end of the year. I have been working full time and going to school part time for a while. I am done with my prereqs and I am just sick of working and going to school together. I also don't know how I can handle both with a new baby and no help from the child's father. My question is... what are my options... and where do I need to begin to look into quitting work and going to school full time? I know people do it, but how? Any advice is welcome :)
