  1. I have two loans through salliemae, one is a private loan and the consolidated loan is a federal loan. Well I started back in school Sept 2nd and was out of school since june because I switched programs because of problems witht he school. My federal loan was under in school deferment but my private loan wasn't and I couldn't pay on it so it was over 100 days past due. Then I get a letter in the mail talking about they had deferred the private loans from 3/1/08 til 4/1/08. So that erased the 100 days past due and made it only 26 days past due. So since I started back school I just called and ask for them to send me some papers so I can defer my loans and they are talking about I can't defer my loans until I make a payment on my private loans because my private loans went in to repayment back in July cause I wasn't in school. I have never heard of this and I could've sworn that by law if I am attending school they have to defer my loans. I told them I can't make no payment that's the main reason I'm asking for an in-school deferment. I'm am so tired of that private loan I will never ever be talked into taking out a private loan again because you have no options. Has anyone heard this before and can smeone give me some advice.
  2. April u keep saying I should switch with someone, but that's the thing. We are not allowed to switch or anything.
  3. Also there have been a lot of people complaining about the school and the program period. A lot of students think the school and program is very unorganized and they don't do anything to help the students. I'm wondering should I had went to miami jacobs or sinclair. None of the instructors ever mentioned anything about needed a car, some of them I've told I catch the bus.
  4. I'm sorry but if I am paying you $20,000 then I should get better treatment than this. I didn't take out $20,000 in loans for nothing. I didn't choose to not have a car, I can't afford one at this time. Like my father said that's why I'm going to school to better myself so I can afford things like a car, etc.
  5. I go to shool at National College of Business and Technology in Kettering, Oh. Another thing that sucks is only one person can go to a site at a time, so car pooling is out of the question. Yeah I;m thinking about talking to the director of the school, or the clinical coordinator or whoever is over her.
  6. I know this has nothing to do with nursing, but I figured since you all have clinical and stuff there would be some relevance. I'm so supposed to be graduating in november and I'm about to start my externship sometime in september. School starts back on september 4th and we'll be a few weeks late starting our externship cause we have to wait for a site to be open. Well I found out a quarter or two ago that we don't get to pick our externship site, they pick a name randomly and we have to go wherever they send us. Their sending people to sites out of town, like Xenia, Cincinnati, Middletown, etc. Well at our meeting today I told the director of the surgical tech program that I don't have a car, I catch the bus and I won't be able to go to a site out of town. Basically in so many words she told me I'm out of luck. She asked me do the buses run early in the morning I told her yes and she said what if the bus break down. Well what if your own car breaks down. I've worked many jobs on the busline and was never late, always on time. Where in other cases I've seen people with cars that are always late. Then she asked if I could get someone to drive me. She said that's why they starting screening people to see if they had reliable transportation cause if they didn't have a car they would not have let them in the program. I am so pissed because how are you gonna stop someone from pursuing a degree because they don't have a car. I thought she would have been understanding of my situation. If that was the case, I guess a lot of people wouldn't be allowed in a program cause they have to catch the bus. I didn't go to school for two years, catching two buses across town everyday, taking four classes a night at times, making sacrifices, and paying out $20,000 just to be told to get to the clinical site the best way I can and I shouldn't have been allowed to pursue a degree in this field because I don't have a car. Now I don't know what's gonna happen, if I can't make it to whatever site they give me I will fail the program. I want to complain to someone about this, cause I don't think it's fair, and I think it's discrimination against people with no cars. Also I'm mad cause I let my nursing assistant certification expire thinking I'm be soon working as a scrub. Also I'm wondering should I just had went on I stuck with trying to go to school for nursing.
  7. I have been working at a nursing home as stna for almost six months. On april 30th my mom, son, and got in a car accident and I sprained my ankle and I had to wear an aircast. I called my job and told them I had been in an accident and I won't be able to come in too work. Since my foot seemed to be feeling fine I tried to go to work on may 5th, especially since I was worried about losing my job. I worked on wednesday and friday and that night my ankle and foot swelled up real big. So I called off and told them I couldn't come in on saturday and sunday because my foot had swelled up. She asked did I have a doctor's statement and I said no. I together I missed five days and the administrator wants to talk to me. I asked the adon how many days can I miss and if I could request leave and she said I have to talk to the lady in payroll and human resources. Then I talked to the lady in business and she said I just right a letter and turn it in and the don will sign it. Now they're saying a need a doctor's statement before I can request leave and it has to be aproved. They didn't tell me anything after I got into an accident about having to have a doctor's statement or anything. I did request my medical records but those take 7 to 10 days to come. But they make up rules as they go. My foot is still swollen and I think the mistake I made was not getting a statement from a doctor after the accident. But they didn't tell me I needed one at first. But now they're saying they might count those days I missed as call offs. I can't stand on my foot for long periods or it swells up. After the accident I had called them twice about how many days can I miss and requesting leave and one woman said she would call me back and never did and the other told me to talk to human resources. Last week they took me off the schedule because they thought I was off on leave. I think I'm going to put in my tweeks notice and find a job somewhere else. I need some advice.

I also plan on going to school and they aren't ever going to work around my schedule and go to school. So I plan on quitting and going to school and try to work for an agency. I need some advice.
  9. I am a nursing assistant and I want to go to school for either lpn or radiology, but mainly lpn. The problem is my job won't let me go to weekends to go to school. I've been there four months now. So I decided to go work for an agency instead. I applied at maxim healthcare and they called me. Lpn classes start in may and september. I plan on putting in my application this friday. They have tutoring for the math and the woman said people who take the tutoring passes the math. The test dates are april 1st, 8th, and 22nd. My friend was telling me to wait to see if I get in school before I leave since I've been there for a while. But I don't wanna keep putting school off, I wanna start now. I'm thinking about my future and things I wanna do. I just wanna be able to make up my own schedule and stuff. I feel like why wait because either way I plan on going to school. My co worker was telling me not to keep putting off school. Should I leave and go work for an agency to go to school?

  11. The walton family is greedy, they make billions of dollars and paying their employees peanuts. They don't even have a union and tell their employees not to join a union. An employee told me and my mom Walmart is about to lay people off and cut back hours.
  12. No one cares about you acting like a 5 year old rolling your eyes, and I've learned in biology and from reading many books that our body is not designed like carnivores nor are our teeth. But I'm not going back and fourth arguing with anyone. Like I said that's why millions of meat eaters are dying each year from all these diseases. Keep being in denial all you want.
  13. Congrats :)
  14. Your opinion is terribly flawed, if your body ran better off of meat, millions of people wouldn't be dying each year from all these diesases. Pick up a book and learn more.
  15. I disagree with the statement that you gain weight as vegetarians. I was raised a vegetarian along with my brothers and we have never been sick or had to go to the doctor or have problems that meat eaters have such has high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. You never hear of vegetarians dying from those diseases. Millions of meat eaters die each year of those diseases resulting from eating animal fat, sugars, etc. You lose weight when you become a vegetarian, my parents stopped eating meat and that was the best thing they did, my mom lost a lot of weight and they didn't have all the health problems they did when they were meat eaters. 90 percent of health problems are a result of the diet but people are so blind, brainwashed, and addicted they don't believe or want to. My 3 year old son is a vegetarian and he has rarely been sick or have needed to go to the doctor, plus he was breastfed which most women don't do but should. My parents have lived both ways and the vegetarian way is better. Our bodies were not designed to digest meat. The animals were designed to eat meat, they have a short digestive tract to get rid of the meat quick and they eat it raw not cooked. Meat sits in our bodies for days before it digests and that when it putrifies and turns cancerous and it turns cancerous when you cook it especially at high temps. Our teeth were not designed to eat meat either. But don't talk about a vegetarian diet unless you've been on one cause I hear nothing but a bunch of myths about it from people that never lived that way and don't know nothing. If you're eating fish you're not a vegetarian. Real vegetarians eat no meat, that's what the word mean.
