  1. I wish. I don't have money to even attend university, it makes me sad. People my age should be studying hard, spending time with new friends at their universities, and just making those years of their life memorable. =/ You just need to look at their website. I've looked at it plenty of times wondering what could be. . .Good luck.
  2. You probably did fine.
  3. You should interview several working parents. You need to compile several questions to help you do that. Like, ask them about burnout, their dreams, how they deal with not spending enough time with children, etc. You could also have your major points and pictures and things on a poster board. But, just BREATHE. You can do this. How long does your speech have to be?
  4. Why not get your associate's at a community college?
  5. nursenelly23: congratulations!!! You will do fine on the NCLEX. =D
  6. It is never too late to accomplish your dreams. I say go for it.
  7. how did you know nursing was for you?
  8. That isn't true about lpn's. Nurses are always in high demand. Sure there aren't many hospital jobs for lpn's, but there is home health and long term care. I too have felt like you did and my ultimate goal is to be an RN as well. Last year I started college, community college, and finished all of my pre-req's for the lpn program. I got my letter of acceptance today. And this past semester I took nurse aide classes to be certified in that. Don't doubt yourself, you can do it. I think you should go along with lpn, then you can work as that while going back to school for rn doing a bridge program.
  9. hello i am sitting here looking at my packet i have to fill out for the program and noticed that i have to take the teas? instead of the net. has anyone taken this test? if so, how difficult was it and what should i study? i know i need to brush up on some basic math skills because math isn't my strong point but i just would like some insight into what the test is like and how difficult it may be. thanks to anyone who can help me with this! :wink2:

i am looking for some insight. i have finished all my prerequisites for the practical nursing program, now all i have to do is pass the nurse entrance test and apply. in my head i've been beating myself up over whether to go for rn or lpn, but i'm just ready to get my hands dirty and begin nursing school. if i were to do the rn route, i'd have another year of pre req's, then i'd apply in 2010. but since i have no experience in nursing, lpn seems like the way to go. it will allow me to gain experience in nursing. i am also enrolled to take nurse aide classes next semester, so that should be interesting. what do you guys think? if i do wish to advance to rn in the future then i will. but for now, i just want to prove to myself i can get through the lpn school first....
  11. Deep in the back of my mind, I'm still at that dilemma where I don't know which path to choose. The one where I go for lpn, or the one where I go straight for rn. I have already finished all of the pn prerequisites this past year. All I would really have to do is take the net and then apply for fall '09. I have never had any nursing experience at all so I don't know what it is like.. Currently I'm enrolled in the nurse aide classes to get certified in that, but I just don't know. I'm afraid that if I do go straight to rn I'll get there and realize that I don't like it, whereas with becoming a cna and starting the pn program in the fall I can see if nursing is even for me. HELP. Edit: I'm just going to stick with my original plan and get my lpn. I'm only twenty years old, so why rush things? Don't people say life is about the journey anyway? So yeah, that is what I'll do.
  12. i wanted to take the net next year but as i was reading back i read that the test would be discontinued in december/january? whyyyy.
