Walden University has new FNP and AGNP Programs
Hello, I am looking at Starting in January, and was wondering about sitting for PA boards also. I was accepted into PSU for the BSN program, but am applying to Walden's RN-MSN(FNP) also. REALLY scared.....anyone else already started that can add some info into how the program is going so far???? My final goal is a DNP and hope this is the right route to take. Skipping my BSN seems scary to me!!!!

Am I too old to just be starting?
OK......Here goes, I am a 31 y/o woman with 2 boys ages 7 and 9. I was also 30 when I graduated. I was a bartender for 8 years to help support my family through this process. I went through a divorce, lost my house, and had my car repoed while in school. I received my ADN at a community college. Remember what our mothers taught us...you can do anything if you put your mind to it. I have since been re-married and live in a beutiful home, I am also thinking about having another child!!! I definately did NOT feel too old. I actually felt more grounded and wise to patients feelings, and personal situations. Here I was 2 weeks after graduation, and I got a job at a pediatric hospital!!! my dreams have come true! It is a wonderful feeling. Don't let ANYONE tell you different or try to change your mind from your dreams. You are never too old to make yourself and others happy. Hope this helped.

How was the Interview Process like for New Graduates at Hershey Medical Center?
Hello, what was the position that you were being interviewed for? How did it go? I would love to work at Hershey as a GN, but I think their process of hiring is already over. Now I think I waited too long and will never find a job I like.

Anyone work in Towson?
Thank you for getting back to me....I was wondering how hard it is to get into peds at GBMC or St. Joe's since I will be a new grad????? Also, about Shepperd Pratt, I love psych but don't want to lose my skills, I was wondering if they have a unit in their facility that also has a fair amount of medical work to be done(comorbitities), IV's etc. Thanx!

Last semester-bombed 1st exam!!!!
Thank you all for getting back to me and being sooo positive. I wish I could be. I haven't even applied anywhere because I am deep in the pits of depression. I feel very overwhelmed. I can't stop shaking the feeling that I am letting my family and myself down. I have been feeling like a terrible wife and mother to my two little boys because mommy needs time for school.......and yet I fail. Anyway, you are all right...EYES ON THE PRIZE!!!!!

Last semester-bombed 1st exam!!!!
Hello All..... I am in my last semester for my RN, and just took my first test. 75% is passing where I attend, and OMG.........I got a 64% HELP, I just don't think I can pull myself out of this hole. Out of 48 students, I only know of 3 that passed. Our instructors already stated-no curve- no extra credit-no exceptions. Majority of the class received either a 72 or 74, I just don't know how to get through. We are now getting ready to learn about rhythm strips and the electrical part of cardiac, does anyone know of good sites to learn? I just don't like how my book explains it. Is anyone else out there in my situation?

Last semester nursing student...Help !!!!!!
On Monday I will start my last semester at HACC Lancaster for my RN. I am freaking out!!!! I have heard horrifying stories, and have felt as if I have struggled enough thus far. I have not had to repeat a semester yet, but can't help but feel as if I am not cut out for this last one. I don't feel as if anything is sticking....just too much info in such a short period of time. I am losing confidence and didn't know if anyone else went to HACC or if you had any advice at all it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.
