Is it time to leave Arizona?
If you're a new grad, do not move to AZ unless like the other posters have stated ... you have a job offer.

Ten things I learned the first month on the job.
Great post.

I have an interview....
Congrats on your interview. I completely understand, it's very tough right now. Keep eye contact and try to remain calm - you can freak out afterwards! Stay positive and remember you know your stuff, after all you passed your boards.

October 2007 Roll Call
I thought this day would never come but I also got accepted into my first choice Scottsdale Accelerated... WOO HOO. There just aren't enough words for the excitement I'm sure we're all feeling!

How many semesters did YOU wait???
I applied Oct 2007 and as of yet have not been placed. I have always had 5 choices and they included Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Phoenix (accelerated), Glendale and Gateway - Phoenix (standard) when PVCC is removed for fall placement. Now that PVCC and SCC have given most of their available spaces to hospital employees it lowers the chance of getting into these two locations. I have seen a few that were accepted into the program for Spring 09 and the remaining of our date/time stamp should be placed for Fall 09. Looking forward to the placement soon!

Prenursing Jobs
Try an opening in the Pharmacy you'll learn a lot about drugs and it will also familiarize you with questions that nurses have on a daily basis as well as with most floors of the hospital.

I just got accepted to Phoenix College.. Help!
Congrats to both of you!! What were your application dates I'm just wondering where they are in the placement time stamp as we all know they won't give the information out. Thanks!

Paradise Valley Hospital
From what I know most nurses that work there are registry so the staff is always changing up. Regarding pay - they are for profit so it may not be up to par with other hospitals in the area. If you do decide to go for the interview you'll have to let us know if the pay scale is similar to other facilities like Scottsdale, Banner etc..
