Relocating to Boise
Hello, My husband and I are contemplating moving to Boise area to be close to family. I am an RN with 3 years of experience (all in pediatrics) I work in an Pediatric ICU for over a year and then moved to a pediatric PACU in the same hospital, and I have been in this position for 1 1/2 years. Does anyone knows what the pay is like for an experience pediatric RN? Is there only one children's hospital in the area? Any information will be appreciated. Thank you :)

WGU transcript evaluation appeal
Hi NurseMorse, Unfortunately don't have the instructors info anymore, this are classes I took 4-5 years ago. I went ahead and submitted what I have, I just hoping is enough. I also provided them with the college director phone number for them to verified information.

WGU transcript evaluation appeal
I am supposed to be starting the RN-BSN program on June 1st but when they evaluated my transcripts they told me that my H&P classes and my Microbiology classes were not transferrable because they could not see a lab component on the transcript. The thing is that my community college did not separate the credits on my transcript, and instead just gave a 4 credit hour for it, when it should actually be 3 for the lecture and 1 credit for the lab. Anyhow I contacted the school and they could only provide my with the class schedule I took showing that I was enrolled in the lab and that the class has a lab requirement that must be met, but they were not able to provide me with any syllabi for the classes. Do you thing this will be enough prove to them that the classes included the lab? Any one with a similar experience? I am very discourage now, if they don't take those classes it mean I would have to take 10 pre reqs :***: there is no way I will do that! Thank you for reading, any advise or info will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I wanted to know how mny credits did you have to take, how many pre-reqs? I graduated with an Associated in nursing from one of the Maricopa community colleges. How long did it take you to complete? Thanks again

Western Governors University RN-BSN
Hello, I was just wondering if there is anyone enrolled in this program (WGU RN-BSN), it is an acredited school and less expensive than ASU or GCU, looks good on paper but I would like opinions from someone already in the program. Thank you

5months pregnant. Should I apply to new job?
I made sure during my interview to let them know is not a problem for me to start traning so soon. My husband works from home so he will be taking care of the kids and I know they are in good hands. I just hope they don't see it as an issue even though is not an issue for me.

PCH GAPP August 2011
I interview yesterday and I feel the interview went great, however I'll be 3-4 weeks postpartum (second child) when training starts in September so I am not sure if they will see that as an issue. I know the first 4 weeks of training is all classroom traning only, so I won't have to do any physical activities wich will give me 8-9 weeks to recover from pregnancy before we hit the floors, but like I said before I hope they don't see that as an issue since I really want this job.

5months pregnant. Should I apply to new job?
I have a similar question. I interview yesterday for a new grad position at a children's hospital. I am 9 months pregnant with my second child and due in about 2 weeks. The training for this position doesn't start until September 15 and it will only be classroom training with no work on the floor for the first 4 weeks. I feel my interview went well but I am wondering if being only 3-4 weeks postpartum when training starts will be an issue.

Phoenix Children's Hospital New Grad Program (GAPP) Summer 2011
I got called for an interview on Tuesday as well. Looks like they are going to have an August and a September start day. I believe the recruiter said they'll be hiring around 80 candidates this time around. I am so excited!!!!

Who is finding nursing school way easier than you were told it would be?
Well it all depends in what block you are at. Block one super easy, block 2 you won't pass if you study the night before I found block 2 to be the hardest block and it is the most repeated block in all MCC nursing programs, block 3 easy, block 4 you need to study more because the semester is shorter and there is more material included per exam. :)

New grad moving from Phoenix to Chicago
Do you think being bilingual will be an advantage? The reason I ask is because I thought it would be here in Arizona but most hospitals are using their own translators team and don't let nurses translate anymore even if you are a native spanish speaking individual, so what I thought to be and advantage is actually irrelevant here.

New grad moving from Phoenix to Chicago
Thank you for your replies. I am taking Nclex here next week and hoping to get my license within a week or two after testing. I already called the nursing board in Illinois to get the fingerprint card sent to me and start the process of endorsement. Hopefully some hospital will call me, it gets really depressing when after 3 years of schooling you can't get a job on the career you love, I really don't see myself doing anything else but nursing.

New grad moving from Phoenix to Chicago
Hello everyone, I am a new grad moving to Chicago from Phoenix orund September/October. The market for new grads in Phoenix is bad, unless you had some sort of contact in a hospital. Anyways I had been lookig here for months without any luck and since my family is in Chicago I decided to relocate my family over there (husband and 2 kids) My question is how is the new market for new grads in Chicago? My aunt is a doctor at one of the main hospital I she said she is going to try to help me in but I really don't know if her being a doctor will have any say on who the manager wants to hire (I guess I don't really understand hospital hierachy). Also how long does it take to get a lincese by endorsment? Any advise will be apreciated. Thanks!

Mayo New Grad program
I applied for the Mayo clinic new grad program the first day the position was available (they had the position online from the 14-16 of this month). Does anyone knows when they start calling for interviews and more importantly what is their criteria for selecting the applicants? I know they probably look at the GPA but I wonder if BSN have more priority than ASN degrees. Any information will be appreciated.

New Grad program at Mayo
To Iamapepper I think that if you graduate in August you may need to apply for the January 2012 program because their next one starts on June 7th and they required that you are done with school before that day.

CGCC nursing students
I am starting block III at CGCC and so far my experience with them has been good. It is a very, very, very chalenging program and it does has its problems but I really do not believe it is any different to any other maricopa nursing program.
