I want to do that also! I totally agree with you on the importance of nutrition and all these diseases. I'm currently researching the entire process. You can probably complete all the requirements for health coaching b4 you finish your NP program. One thing I noticed is a lot of clients would rather work with someone that's Certified, that way you can also get liability insurance. However, as an NP, the certification may not be necessary. You can look up the various nutrition certification programs, I've found a few online courses which are a couple thousand dollars. If you don't really want to become an NP, you don't need it to work as a health coach. google "how to become a health coach" Hope this helps.

maybe try becoming a CNA instructor first, that will give you experience in the field and also an inside look to the running of a CNA school. I had looked into becoming a CNA instructor myself and noted there aren't many schools here in IL. Hopefully Florida is different

thanks lady & gentleman (can't forget you) I just needed opinions. I already got into the DePaul program but the cost and amount of work that I know is involved made me rethink the decision which is why I came looking for alumni to help with the questions in my head. thanks again!

Hello ladies, I just joined allnurses so i'm just reading this. How did the program go? I got into the program and begin in January so I'm just trying to get info from alumni. Do you become an RN after the program? Also, what kind of jobs were you able to apply for eg. staff nurse, nurse administrator etc. Basically, what are the benefits of going this route? is it worth the cost, time, etc? cos i'm really considering an ADN bcos it costs less and you still become an RN. thanks.

I'm new to this "community" & just read this thread. I just got accepted for the winter quarter and wanted to ask about the school cos i'm trying to decide whether to accept it or not. My main concern is after graduation, what are my options? As in what kind of nursing jobs will we be qualified to apply for since we don't have any nursing experience? I was comparing this program with UIC's and UIC seems to point its students towards a specialty. Is that the same with DePaul? or is their's just a general RN program - like a BSN? thanks in advance.
