  1. Thank you sir for your responsed. So u mean if you choose to be in the reserve u still have to go in active duty? I think reserve is better.Well, maybe I'm just saying this right now. I saw a bunch of messages here they were talking about how to go active. Perhaps Active duty is better, but I really want to serve in my community and still continue to serve my country. -The idea is I want to finish my BSN after I get out of the Navy and then come back as a Navy Nurse Corps officer. I'm going to use MGI Bill and maybe TA:D.
  2. Hey everyone, I have some questions about reenlisting in the reserve as a Nurse Corps. a.) If you are prior military, and you've done your time, and finish BSN school, Can u enlist again in the reserve area as a Nurse Corp? b.) If you can do it, how long do u have to stay? Thanks,,
  3. Hey there Everyone!, Today, I just talked to a navy college counselor about my career plan and told me about MECP program. I was so confused about it but I realized this is what I've been waiting for. I thought is a great oppurtunity:D. I really wanted to become a Nurse before I joined the Navy and I have this thought in my mind that being a nurse in the Navy is a great thing. Sad thing was, I went to HM school, and I didn't realy like it that much and for some personal issues I decided to switch rate. Now I'm an OS. I've been on deployment and saw how the HM's work. So I decided to get myself involved in medical department in my command. I've been a stretcher bearer that worked for the HM's in case of emergency and I realized what I have missed! , They trained us really well and a thought to myself came out "I want to become a Nurse when I get out"!!!!.. It was my stupid mistake that made me realized what I've done:banghead: I'm a hardworking and good sailor. I have taken some prerequisites for Nursing and working on 3 more to qualified for MECP. I didnt know this program until I talked to Navy college. I thought the only commisioning programs is the STA 21. I was so schock because I know this is the opportunity that I've been looking for. Question??? -I want to apply for it, but I' was wondering how long do u have to stay in the Navy after you get commisioned? Anyone that went through this program please tell me some of your experiences? I would love to know. I made a mistake before, but I believe everything happens for a reason. No matter what happen I' will never gonna stop until my dream come to pass. Thanks for any of you that reply,,, GOD BLESS.. I salute all of you guys that are NURSES!!!!
