Home health/LTC in Las Vegas/Henderson area
You can forget home health too. They want 6mo.-1yr. experience minimum. Their thinking is that you will be in a home situation, with no one to turn to, in case you need assistance or have a question. In the hospital setting there is support when a new grad needs it. Believe me, I've already tried to go that route. I'm a new grad and frustrated too!!! Good luck!

Why won't anyone hire new grads?
NewlyLicensedNVRN: Do you know when St. Rose is going to start the next versant program? I was just graduating nursing school at the time the application had to be in and NCLEX passed so I missed the deadline. Any info would be much appreciated!!

RN jobs Las Vegas
I know this thread started about a year ago but I was wondering how it turned out for everyone. I graduated the end of May 2010 and have passed my NCLEX on the first try. I graduated with honors and had the highest GPA in my graduating class. I also received the Director of Nursing Award. After all of this hard work, I can barely get a response from my applications, never mind an interview. Everyone wants at least 1 year of experience. I am so discouraged and have never had such a hard time finding a job in my life. Does anyone have any leads or suggestions for a new grad in Las Vegas? I am out of patience and money!!!

Las Vegas - NOT new-grad friendly
Same story! I am looking for a RN position that accepts new grads in the Las Vegas area. I have a current BCLS and was awarded the National U Director of Nursing Academic Achievement Award. I am willing to work any shift. I passed my NCLEX on the 1st attempt and I am ready to go to work. Any advice or potential job leads out there? Thanks! My email is [email protected]

National University review
I just graduated from National University in May 2010. My cohort was the second graduating class from this new nursing program. I had all of my prereq's completed when I began there and it took 15 months to earn my Associate's RN degree. I took the NCLEX the same week that I got my "Authorization to Test". I passed on the first attempt. I had a great experience at this school and would recommend it to anyone that is interested in an accelerated nursing program. The small class sizes were great. The instructors make themselves available to you whenever asked and the schedule was not bad at all! I enjoyed it from beginning to end! Good luck! :)
