  1. I can tell you which of your questions came up in my OR interview... - Describe a stressful clinical situation and how you handled it. - Tell me about a time when your performance did not meet your expectations. - What personal qualities do you feel are important to be successful in this position? Which of these qualities do you possess? You also left out some critical questions, such as: - Tell me about yourself? - Have you had any OR experience? Tell me about it? - What are your strengths / weaknesses? - What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Best of luck!
  2. I graduated from NYU's accelerated program in January. I think we only had one course with the entire cohort (Professional Nursing). Every other course was split into two sections. Students complain about EVERYTHING. It actually made sense to switch every semester to 12 weeks, so that your peds clinical was the same length as your elder clinical, allowing equal numbers of clinical days in both courses. First of all, they're not "plastic men." When working correctly, they can mimic a patient quite well. You can really improve your skills tremendously if you take sim lab seriously. If you're that scared of debt, don't go to NYU. Since we graduated in January and passed the NCLEX in March, not only do all of my friends have jobs, but they're all at the top hospitals in the city.
  3. I've had good experiences at B&R Uniforms, 428 2nd Ave @ 25th. They have tons of scrubs, and decent selections of white coats, nursing shoes, etc.
  4. I'm not sure what the attrition rate is, but it is safe to say that most people finish the program. I know a couple that didn't pass, and a few more who have come pretty close to not passing (B- minimum), but most aren't in that situation. If you get lower than a B- you 'decelerate,' and you must retake the course the next semester. No, you don't have to repeat the courses you passed.
  5. Just spoke to the bookstore and there is no more bundle. They must be purchased individually.
  6. Kelzy, on the NYU bookstore's site, after I plug in my ID, it doesn't offer the bundle, just individual books. Should we just stop into the bookstore and request a bundle? Thanks!
  7. Email the New York State Board of Nursing at [email protected] or call (518) 474-3817 ext. 360. They'll give you the pass rates for any school in the state.
  8. I'm looking at NYC area schools to do an accelerated second degree BSN. I couldn't find NCLEX pass rates anywhere so I emailed someone at the New York State Board of Nursing and got the following info. Thought I'd share:
