  1. Thank you all for the encouraging words. It's funny how it always feels like you're alone, when you're really not. I probably wont have time to do Suzanne's plan, but I'll definitely take the advice to do the tests at the end of each chapter in the saunders book. I'm gonna probably also use the RANDOM FACT throwing thread to refresh some memory as well. But for now I'm going to take a short break and get settled in. Blah!
  2. So, I found out today, after 18 days of waiting for my fingerprints to be cleared, that I....did not pass the NCLEX-RN the first time around. Right now I just feel hopeless, like I wasted 4 years of schooling with nothing to show for it. Now I have no idea where to even begin re-studying all the information that I need to know. I'm a terrible test taker, always have been, barely made it through Med/surg I and II, but I've always been great at clinicals. I have no idea where to begin studying. What to review, questions. I can't afford to take a Kaplan class. I have a Saunders review book but that's what I used last time. My self-diagnosed ADD of course made it hard to completely focus. Are there any others who have a hard time focusing? What do you do to help you focus? So many things are running through my mind. I took the test in CA, but recently moved back home to NY. So I don't even know how I go about re applying to take the test if it was taken in another state. And I know there is no consistant order to this post. I just needed to vent. Family really doesn't understand what it feels like, they just keeping giving me "it's not the end of the world. You can just retake it and do better next time." line. But it sure does feel like it.
  3. Ah, okay so I did get them mixed up. Thanks for clearing that up. The only thing that sucks now is that all the programs are either filled or have already started. I took the NCLEX already, just waiting on fingerprints to come back so I can get my results.
  4. Hey epoy, I took mine the same day in CA, as well. No result for me yet, but it turns out that my fingerprints have not come yet. So I would call them and ask if your file is complete. They'll let you know if you're missing anything and what you're missing. The woman I talked to was pretty helpful. But you can't call until Monday since I believe they are closed Sat & Sun. Good LUCK!
  5. I agree. I wish they would. But the spaces are all filled for fall. Next I know that opens is February
  6. I wanted to do new grad program but I missed all the deadlines. And I heard that you only qualify before you've taken the NCLEX. So I guess I would just be hired on as a nurse and follow a preceptor around for a few weeks and then all by myself it is.
  7. I do but I have studen loans to pay off and other bills. I was planning on having a part time job and full time anyway. So I probably wont have to quit. Plus I need somthing to do these weeks while I wait
  8. She said two weeks up to couple of months. I'm hoping it's more of the 2 weeks. Well the first set I sent in I got the results that they weren't readable pretty fast. Soi here's to hope that these are readable but don't take long to process. So it looks as for the meantime, i'll be needing to find a part time job somewhere.
  9. So called them and found out that the reason I don't have results yet is because, like i suspected fingerprints. This lady was more helpful then the one i spoke with yesterday and actually took the time out to explain what sending out fingerprints meant. So It does look like I'll be waiting a while. Atleast now I can relax. And breath, knowing why.
  10. I graduated in my from Virginia in MAY that is. And in Virginia you aren't allowed to test until the board has everything, so I assumed it was like that in CA as well. But, it makes me think California is not that way. Hmm. I may need to call and ask them if my file is complete. It's strange how every state is different.
  11. I live in southern California and am having the same problem as well. It's sad that apparently there's this huge nursing shortage, but I'm guessing CA is not one of those places. Hospitals seem to be very picky about whom they hire. It's always 2 years experience this, or 1 years experience this. I'm like EVERYONE had to start somewhere give me a chance. I'm a quick learner. It just frustrates me.
  12. On business day 5. Still nothing.
  13. Well I'll definitely keep you in my prayers. I get more nervous everytime i think about it. I hope you find out soon. Definitely keep me posted. Don't you just wish you could pay someone under the table to find out???
  14. Thanks!! I really need to call them up and have a chat. It's true it does make me more nervous.
  15. It did. 75 hit screen went blue and i couldn't focus at all on the survey. I just wanted it to keep going. Because 75 means you either did so well it felt you didn't need to prove yourself anymore or you sucked so bad that it bothered to not even ask you more questions. \ And my family/friends keep nagging me asking if I knew anything yet. And the more I say the no the more they're like "Well if you didn't pass it's not the end of the world." If I hear that phrase one more time I'm going to go insane. Because you know it is the end of the world!!!! At least to me.
