After reading Washington union contract, I noticed RNs in Seattle don't get paid well. Currently, my pay in Phoenix area is same as RNs in Seattle. Houses in Phoenix area are about 50% cheaper than Seattle. Plus, I get free medical insurance, pension plan and 403b. My Overtime is 1.75 times or more. I love Seattle. But I can't support my family there.

I will try Northern Seattle area. Hopefully, I will land a job there. I just want to move out Phoenix area. 100+ degree is way too hot. Plus Seattle has better schools for kids. I heard it rains almost everyday in the winter there.

Is your hospital slow?

The east valley hospital I work at is very slow. I got canceled often. I wonder if it is a valleywide problem. Would you like give some ideas what is going on? Snowbird not coming due to economy? or it just happens at my hospital? Thanks!

My wife is tired of being unemployed, she is trying to go to nursing school. But she is intimidated by long list of waiting list here in Mesa. What else we can do? which nursing schools are faster to get in? She doesn't mind to drive at all. Your comments are appreciated.

With two fingers, I always get tired as I was pushing very hard on the artery. I wonder if I can just pressure the artery with 4X4 or 2X2 gauze. I had a patient with calcified artery once, I had very hard time to hold the artery. I got it stop bleeding with someone else help. I am very interested in the fist technique. Thank you for your advice. Yes, she can go to private school as long as she can get in. She just started Anatomy& Physiology 201. I agree we can go to LPN program first, then go into RN. Do you think waiting list is shorter for LPN to get into RN program? Thank you.
