4 year psych nursing degree (Hons) in Ireland
Other than dealing with Immigration, you will need a green card and social security card to work in US.In terms of nursing you will have to take the NCLEX exam. The nursing board in each state will give you directions on what educational requirements are needed. This will all be very time consuming and the job situation for new grads here are limited and very competitive.I'm not sure if I answered your question, but good luck...

Florida job market for new grads or returning nurses
I am not too sure what the job market is like in Pensacola for psych, but I am in the Port Charlotte area and their is nothing...Psychiatric care is limited here unless you are into Nursing Home with elderly alzheimers/dementia.We relocated here last year due to my husbands job, beautiful area but no jobs for me.I have been looking for 4 months now, sent out multiple applications from Naples to Bradenton(I have 20+ yrs exp) and I'm not even getting a phone call.It is very frustrating, maybe Pensacola is better....good luck:)

moving to FL
I am an RN from NY,relocated last year, and am having a difficult time finding a job here(i work in psych).Their are many jobs as nursing aides, some for LPN,and it depends on what part of florida you move to.In Miami area they pay a little more than Fort Myers.I am not sure what the salary is for LPN but RN here(in Ft.Myers) average $22-25 hr,I believe LPN $18...sorry,its pathetic i know....good luck:)

Thanks kiwi 65 for your info on the fact team i had come across that before.I had thought about working with them in jacksonville too.Do you have any idea on salary with them? I think the mental health system in florida needs some major updating.I noticed there are practically no services at all for the mentally ill.How does everyone cope, where do families go for help? Thanks again
