  1. #Debridement not debris enemy. Darn auto correct.
  2. I am concerned about a sacral stage 3 decubitus. Wound bed is pale pink with no drainage. My concern is the edge surrounding the wound is white, puffy, dead skin about 1/8 of an inch back. Should the patient be sent to a wound clinic for debris enemy or this just naturally occur itself. Otherwise the nutrition is great and repositioning regularly. Just don't want to lose any ground. Thanks so much for any advice!
  3. I need help! I have accessed many mediports without any problems until now. (Wouldn't you know its a friend of mine). The port is about three years old. I have had trouble accessing it the last three months. Today I tried twice. First time the needle needed way to much pressure so I stopped and started over. The second attempt felt like I was pushing the needle through styrofoam. She was lying at a 45 degree angle. It was a one inch huber. (i have found one inch is better and she is overweight). Port is just above right breast. I was holding the edges with my nondominant hand. This has happened sitting up but I usually get it lying down. I am just stumped. Any ideas? I HATE MISSING!
  4. I left ICU and went straight to homecare. I missed the adreneline rush but love home care. Have now been in homecare for 20 years. Very family friendly job. Generally ICU nurses make very good home health nurses. Good luck with your decision. :loveya:
