I am new to this site. I was thinking about applying to the Westmoreland County Community College--Greene County. Does anyone have any info. about that program? Is it a two year program? Thank you

Still no letter.....I'm going to lose it:grn: I emailed melissa again and she forwarded the email to Janice Augustine. I know I spoke with her a couple of times over the summer, however, I'm not sure what her title is. I can't take another day of this :angryfire:flmngmd::angthts: I don't know what to do!:thnkg: I realize people probably don't want to post if they didn't get in......but, does anyone know if they sent out letters even if you didn't make it this time?

Thanks for your reply. I applied at Allegheny. I spoke with Melissa via email at the end of the day today. She told me to give it one more day and if I don't receive it to call her ASAP and she will figure this out! She has been very helpful and responds quickly. Well, I guess I've waited this long so one more day shouldn't matter......

christenmarie81, do you happen to have the email address for melissa at north campus? my situation is a little different and i'm wondering if that is why i haven't received a letter. i requested what ccac considers "advance standing" because i have some experience and have taken a few nursing classes at another school. it would sort of be like an lpn to rn route and they consider that advance standing which, so far, only meant that i didn't have to take the net test. all else was the same. i still needed the same prereqs etc. as everyone else. anyway, the point of my babbling here, is that i was just going to send her an email in the morning asking if she could give me any info. or when i might expect a response. i have an email for janice augustine whom i spoke with a few times over the summer just making sure they received my packet so i was going to include her as well. thanks

Also not sure how I got on the Fall 2009 thread.....for a while there I was thinking you and I were the only students that applied...LOL! I have found the Spring 2010 thread (obviously) so I'll post on here if I hear anything! I do know someone going to CALU now so let me know if you have any questions after you get accepted etc. She was a transfer student from another nursing program so I'm not sure if the process was different for her since she already had some nursing classes done. I thought about going to CALU bc I live near Waynesburg but I work in Pittsburgh so I figured it would just be easier to go to Allegheny and I took my prereqs there. Well, Good Luck to everyone! I hope we all get good news on Thursday!

Christenmarie81, Going to give it until the end of the week and probably call again I really hate to be a pest, however, people have told me that some of the clearances take 6 weeks to come back. If we don't hear until December we are not going to have them back in time:o

I called the North Campus this past week. Letters for CCAC nursing spring 2010 term will not be sent out until Nov. 1st. They will notify students either way.

I'm getting very anxious. I want to call them but I don't want to be a pest! Thanks for the reply. I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one! Did they tell you that they would let you know either way? I wasn't sure exactly how that works.

I didn't realize there was a fast track program. The reason I have all of these questions is bc I couldn't get any information from the advisor. He told me all about his health issues, how is wife is a nurse and hates it and doesn't understand why anyone would want to be a nurse. Then he coughed the entire time without covering his mouth!!! I was then referred to the 7th floor bc I would be transferring into the program and not starting from the beginning. Once I got there I was told that they couldn't help me and that I would need to see someone at the north campus!!!! Just not the best experience. I just want to get this done and I feel like I'm not getting any "real" info. I did call out to the north campus and they were very helpful. I'm going to get all of my paperwork together, submit it ASAP and see what happens from there. Thanks for your help. It seems to be easier to get info from students who have experienced it. Did you do the fast track?

I am applying to CCAC for the Spring Semester at Allegheny Campus. I would be transferring from another program and starting with the second nursing class. They said when you start at the spring semester you would graduate the following december! Does that sound right? How long is each semester? Just seems like a short period of time. Not that I want it to be any longer but I just wanted to make sure that was correct. (I don't even know what to say about the advisor I had spoken to....It was definitely an experience!) Thanks for any advice

Is the eve/wknd program 4 years? what time do your classes start? do you go everyday? do they accept in the fall semester? lots of questions, I know. Just trying to find out about different programs. I have a child and work so i'm just trying to work around all of that. thank you!

I have books for West Penn school of Nursing if anyone attending there is interested. Please do not spend the hundreds and hundreds of dollars on books! I will be happy to sell them at 1/2 the price. It's ridiculous what they charge for books. I realize that some of the editions change from year to year but let me know which ones they are suggesting and I will see if I can help you.
