I believe Prof. K. Says we should be getting the skills from the perry/potter clinical nursing skills & techniques book...on blackboard under lab in the welcome section you should see the skill cards list..on the different topic for the cards...hope this helps.

I've been trying to get back in the swing of things, and the prof emailed us to let us know we can start reading the 1st 5 chapters in nur proc text.

Just a FYI..I went to Sears at the broward mall and they had the scrub bottoms from Cherokee for 15.99...the right color , in multiple sizes..petite sizes as well as reg sizes.. bought some timberland nursing shoes which are so comfortable..they were a little pricey on sale for 90...but I figured the comfort will more than make up for it...the nursemates shoes are only avail online.

She said at orientation no...only on clinical days, but if we are practicing our skills on our own time we would have to wear closed shoes.

I had to call financial aid for them to put thru my aid manually...now I can truly rest.

I'm going to central..and I finished it all on and I'm turning it in today..which is the due date...phew!

I must be crazy...i have a couple of recertifications to do, which I am doing thru CEUfast...I remember asking if I could do them on line at orientation and I believe she said yes... since they were recertification...I called the nursing dept and left a msg to make sure, but no call back as well..If anyone know if I remembered correctly let me know..Please and thank you

Is there anyway you can post that list?..I will really appreciate if you can and if you can't that okay...I find I have little time and with my kids being home next week my time is even more limited.

I think you can specialize as a RN....BSN will give u an upper hand...as any bachelors degree will.

I saw nursemates for $39 at Sears...it was the all white, no laces and a small wedge...I did an online search becuz the magazine I had showed them for 74.95..I haven't actually physically gone to a store..

Wow...still a little overwhelmed after yesterdays orientation...but I am pumped and can't wait for 1/5/2012.

This is not my first issue with financial aid and here it is on my status I'm flagged that I needed my hs transcript and that I failed the fcat so I need to take a cpt test...now I never went to hs in Florida but not only that, I have been a student since 2008...I call them and they say they will add a note..it is a system issue and not to worry...I would hate to have gone this far and then have a mistake again by financial aid cause a problem..

I'm thinking its the hospital groups that are offering the scholarships...if you look on bc page at the scholarships then pull up the groups its pretty much the ones in the central area.

Anyone going to central????so glad the orientation is a good month+ before classes start...gives me time to get all I need.

The clinicals are the labs and when you're done you will see lab and hospital listed in the schedule.

I registered for central...yay...I used the ref codes in the email...now there was only one ref # for each class..except math...I was given 2 options for either Monday or Thursday..after registering, I thought it kinda odd that there werent any options..so when I went back I saw they had another class for nursing process(different ref#) with a different teacher that wasn't listed in the email..so did they intentionally do that so the the classes were evenly spread out or did they mess up...I think I will give them a call today.

Is it me and I am reading it wrong...that there is only one different option for central campus schedule...the math class..either Monday or Thursday.

I am waiting and stressing about the central campus dates to turn in our stuff too..is it me or does anyone think that the 11/17 date for south is kinda short...I mean we are coming out of pocket for everything..I know we knew everything would be expensive but come on in todays economy everything is tight...that's less than a month after our pre admin orientation...well I hope central gives a little more time than that..

BCstudent0105...I understand..I too am worried as I would like to attend central..Central is closest to me and its more affordable for me to attend it...I hope we all get to go to our preferred campus...Congrats and good luck to all.

Tiff01, the titers are taken first and based in those results it will let the Dr/you know if you need the immunizations...I for instance cannot remember when last I had any immunizations, so my titers will show I have almost none of those vaccines in my system..

We do have to do a medical and drug testing for sure every year...she said with the background check they will let us know if we had to do it again...the titer level I believe will let you know if u have to retest (but don't quote me on that)..its been soooo long since I've had any immunization shots that I'm almost sure I will have to get all of them again..
