  1. Yes you may. I have worked in home for over 10 years. I have had foot care classes through an agency really was not a big deal. just cut them straight across an don't cut to short. Do not try to remove in grown nails. If they are to thick refer to podiatrist. nail care is an authorized task by the DOSS just make sure the agency you work for is getting authorization for that task. I always get POs for DNC but according to the agency guideline that is not even necessary, but I feel better with signed orders. Nailcare for pts w/ DM or anticoagulant TX (not including ASA) must be done by a LPN or RN. So be sure home care aides are aware.
  2. I am with you. Things like this just does not bother me. There are to many words in the human language for us to get them all correct. I find life so much easier not letting things like this get under my skin. I am guilty of saying things incorrectly sometimes, especially drug names. Sometimes I wonder if the creater of the med can say it correctly.
  3. I was also wondering if anyone has the evening lpn to rn schedule.
  4. was it hard working full time?? i work t/w/th, have a 9 yr old, i am an in home lpn. I have to keep working to maintain health issurance. was it real stressful?
  5. You should try working in a different field. I work In HOME. Low stress, slow pass on the most part. I have been a nurse for about 12 yrs. I will admit after I got out of school I thought what have I just got myself into?? The shifts were demanding, the staff was demanding, pts were demanding. I figured out real quick I hated hospital work with a passion. Nursing home I enjoyed but the schedule wasn't. You should try working in a different area, school nurse, education, etc. You may find you are able to enjoy life more. No job is worth your peace of mind you have to care for yourself before you can for others. I wish you only the best.:redbeathe
  6. As a nurse surely you have had more odd moments as this and far more disturbing. There are somethings worth making an issue over this is not one. Whether you realize you have your beliefs and I am sure you have expressed them at one time or another. Alot of people would find it offensive that you are atheist. By just telling that, you exposed your self in either a negative light or a positive light before some people. The key is being mature and respectful. You done the right thing by just not making an issue out of it. Let it go. I am a christian and if I was the one being prayed for I would have felt blessed. Had you made an issue out of it, it would have caused some undo stress. I have dealt with some wierd stuff. One pt I cared for believed his dogs were people in the past life and he lived in NY in the early 1900s and liked to ice skate. I made no comment.:nuke:
