  1. Due to the nursing shortage there are more & more people going to school for nursing. I would wait it out for a little longer...even if you do get accepted you probably won't start for a couple semesters at least. I didn't hear back about acceptance for almost 6 weeks and didn't start the program for 2 semesters after that. Be patient....good things come to those who wait

for most BSN program, both chem classes are a requirement. For your ADN they are not & those math classes would probably be ok, but definitely check with the requirements. Also, think long & hard about if you will continue for your BSN. I only took requirements for ADN & now have a lot more classes to take when I continue to get my BSN....just something to think about (I wish I had)
  3. I am a new nurse currently living in Ohio. Right before I started my job, my father passed away. My mother is now all alone here in Ohio (besides me & my siblings)...she is talking about moving to Florida within the year where her entire family lives...I would obviously make the move as well & was wondering if anyone knows how to go about transferring my license & how much it would cost? I don't think I could survive through state boards again!!!!!
  4. I am a new RN who has only been working for about a month. The hospital I work for tested our urine for drugs and CIGARETTES as part of our preemployment screening. I was a smoker & I quit for the test. Recently a lot has been going on & I fell back into the habit (I could kick myself for it!!!) What are the odds that I will have to do monthly or "random" drug tests now that I'm hired? **I don't smoke on the hospital grounds, or even in my car on the way to work, so I don't smell like smoke
  5. I just passed the NCLEX last week & I really don't know if there is anyway to prepare yourself for it....of course you need to know "content", but don't overdo it! Focus on really knowing infection control & what precautions are needed for different diseases & the rest of the test was mainly priority Qs (which pt would you assess first). What helped me to relax was the night before the test I didn't try to study at all, but once I got to the testing center, I did 25 review Qs in the car.....Good luck to you...I'm sure you'll do fine!
  6. I hope you can pass with 75 Qs....I shut off at 75 today as well, and I have been sick to my stomach ALL day!! I was positive when I left the test center, but I'm getting very anxious now & don't think I can make it all weekend without results!!!
  7. I just took the NCLEX today & it shut off at 75 The test was so hard I don't even know what to think....
