When is the scrubs sale?

Thanks Sheena. I think it's just nervous anticipation for most of us. The course packet says we can buy polo shirts from the NSA as well. Will those be available during the scrub sale? Also, will the scrubs sold by NSA be any different than the ones we can buy at uniform shops? Will the prices be similar? Also, do most students work in hospitals, or in a variety of jobs?

Is there a certain shade of royal blue I should be looking for, or does royal blue take care of it?

By uniforms do you mean scrubs? Or do we need actual SFC uniforms?

Hey Butterfly, can you find out what we will need as far as uniforms and scrubs? I Know things won't be identical to last year, but they should be close. I'm just trying to budget for what I will need to buy. Any help is appreciated.

Is there a big pay difference between ASN and BSN?

What's worse, first semester nursing school or first year as a nurse? I start nursing school in a month....

What about you? Have you been in college since high school or did you take some time off in between?

I've done quite a few different things. Never really found anything I liked all that much. Two of my step brothers went to nursing school and enjoyed it, so I took a few prereqs and really enjoyed them. Now here I am planning to devote two more years to school.

I live by UF. So it's sort of a commute. Especially since we'll be starting at 9, i'll hit the worst traffic. What about you, are you in Gainesville or out of town?

The book prices are all over the place. One site will have one book cheap and the others not so cheap. I'll have to check half.com.

yeah, it was my first time applying, what about you? i saw there are about 10 textbooks on the list, just some of them don't seem quite as important as others. Do you know what the cutoff for points was this year to get in?

I ordered my online background check today and did fingerprints yesterday. I'm 34 so I didn't get alot of the immunizations most of the people starting the class have had. Just because in the early 70's they weren't reccomended. So I'm having to have titers drawn to check for immunity and getting quite a few shots. I also need to take the cpr course. So I've got plenty to do.

They really aren't making any information available. I guess everything will be in the syllabus they say we get one week before classes begin. Have ya'll done fingerprints and background checks and started immunizations yet?

I already looked at the book list for nur1020c which i believe is the first class of the nursing program. lots of books like medical terminology and medical dictionary that i wonder if we will really need. i just took med. terminology as a class and didn't even need the book. i'm going to try to order my books online but the nursing book that is required isn't even available anywhere yet. any thoughts?

Hi, I got into the ASN program at SFCC in Gainesville starting August 2008. If any of you are starting as well, let me know. We can share info about where to get cheaper books and all. J
