  1. I thought it went well. I'm about to start reading though..Want to make sure I stay ahead of the game instead of procrastinating (like I usually want to do).
  2. 143trinity...About the syllabus...Are you seeing all the markups and arrows on the side of the page? If so, just go up to "View" in the toolbar and click on "Markup". That should take them off the screen and make the document easier to read.
  3. Nope. Don't even know where I was placed for clinicals either...Maybe we'll get more details at orientation on Tuesday.
  4. Thanks for the info, as usual! Sorry you're having so many issues with your order - sounds like your luck is as good as mine! LOL
  5. I've got 6 books so far - I'll get the rest from the bookstore once I move up there this weekend. And No, I haven't opened them.. I've been tempted, but I'm saving the excitement until I get through this move! Since I have yet to attend orientation, I haven't ordered any uniforms yet. Do they give you a specific number of uniforms you have to buy? 2? 5? Did they say we had to wear them to class or just to clinicals? I know some schools down here have you wear scrubs every day to class, but others just to clinicals. Doesn't really matter to me, just curious! :wink2:
  6. aberndt - What a small world! Yeah, I came up to St. Pete in elementary school, so I've been around here for a while. Valrico isn't too far from me - I'm over here in Westchase (Tampa). My parents lived out in Plant City for a while - now my mom lives in Fernandina Beach and works in Jacksonville. This is too funny! I won't miss home at all with all of you Floridians around! LOL
  7. Sounds like a plan!! We'll have to touch base before the orientation so we can meet up there.
  8. Well since I wasn't really that familiar with the area, I just did the easy thing and got an apartment at Park Pointe North across the street from the campus. So I'll be really close to school until I learn the areas and get brave to venture out. I'm moving in on 8/15, so I'll be up there just in time for orientation on the 18th. :wink2:
  9. Hooray for Floridians! To answer your question, MercerChick...I was born in Hialeah, FL and have lived in Orlando, St. Petersburg and now Tampa. I was pretty much raised in St. Pete, though. Everyone down here think I'm crazy to want to leave, but I'm ready for a change in scenery! I'll see you and mfisher6 at the orientation! :wink2:
  10. Well, since I'm down here in FL, it may be different for you...BUT...I took my BLS Healthcare Providers CPR class at my local hospital for around $40. It was the cheapest class I found anywhere - the other locations wanted over $70, so I lucked out. The hospital down here is St. Joseph's, so maybe one of the local hospitals up there have the classes. I was going to take it at the American Heart Association down here, but it was a little pricey, so I just started calling hospitals ini the area and found the one at St. Joe's. Good luck - hopefully you can find a cheap one up there, because any little bit of savings helps!!
  11. Congrats MercerChick! Hooray! We'll be seeing you in a few weeks!
  12. Camille...I did notice the software cost on the bill - and yes, it's going to cost a pretty penny, but from what I hear, it's worth it. I noticed (well my husband did -he's in finance, naturally) that my bill doesn't add up correctly, so I'm going to have to make a call today to see if I can get it figured out. Thank goodness he checked, because I wouldn't have added it up all myself, I'm a little too trusting I guess! AND..THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the ISBN numbers. Makes my life so much easier!
  13. Thanks for all the great tips, bibi19!!!
  14. Camille...I'll definitely email you about those ISBN numbers. I'm packing up all my stuff now, getting ready to make the move from FL, so any info is greatly appreciated!!
  15. Ok cool. Thanks for the info! I'm doing my drug test today and my OSHA and HIPPA stuff this weekend. I'm just so ready for the "process" to be over and start school already! LOL.
