Hi Andrea, I see that ALL of my posts have been removed. Sorry if I offended you. I never want to discourage young nurses, because it seems less and less young people are going into nursing. I guess after reading all of your posts my point was to go ahead and get started now in your undergraduate work, because you can make decisions about specialties as you get more involved in school and are around people who specialize in the areas you mentioned. Also I have been working alot the last few days and am short on sleep. Please accept my apologies. :balloons:

I saw this term used recently also. When I googled it, it said it was basically the same as Vasovagal syncope. It was a short article though. Are you sure it wasn't Klonopin / Clonazepam? i enjoy nursing and i definitely care, but i definitely like pay day also. when i was in nursing school i never thought too much about the money. i just wanted to ~survive to graduation~ and make good grades. and if i didn't need the money i make nursing today , i would only nurse 8 hour shifts a couple of days a week for fun. probably 8am to 4 pm lol your co-students may be surprised to find......, oh what is that song ~you work hard for your money, so hard for it honey~

When I read this my first thought was "Is this for real?" I think things are done very differently in the US. We definitely can't take money, and the lab in in charge of locating blood. 24 hours a day, seven days a week. But my mother-in law is from the Phillipines, so I know things are very different there. Good luck with this situation.

I agree with the above. I am an RN who has worked triage for years, and am also a Paramedic. It is a different kind of triage. And I think you become a master at ER triage, by working the triage area. At our hospital only RN's can triage. But we do use triage assistants to do vital signs and assist. Sometimes it is a Paramedic, but most often an ER tech, trained on the job.
