  1. can anyone explain how suny online works? do you pay for the courses individually? can i use financial aid to pay for the courses? is there a degree you can attempt just to get the pre-req's needed? i work funny hours and often have mandatory overtime. going to a campus for classes right now is not an option.

  3. I'm going for my ADN. Then I can get some experience and then go for my BSN or MSN. Plus I want to see how much I can handle while dealing with my children.
  4. I am most interested in RN, but LPN is not bad. I was actually trying to ask if I would benefit by taking the CNA course. I am taking my pre-req's for RN. How long have you been in the program? Was it difficult to get into the program. Any pointers? I think for right now my worse night-mare will be A&P. But I will keep my head up.
  5. I am also looking for Aiken Tech students. I would like to know how do you enjoy the RN program? Is there anyone on here that is doing LPN? Should I take CNA? I am starting my pre-req's in august. Just wanted some of your advise and input. I'm so excited and also very scared. So any information would be greatly appreciated.
  6. What schools if any, do you recommend? I am starting my pre-req's in August. I figure by next summer, I should have most of my classes done. Well, depending on which school I apply to. I am very anxious, yet scared to death. I know having a good G.P.A is very important.
  7. Thank You. What school do you attend? Do you feel that you have an advantage by being a LPN first, versus a person going straight to RN?
  8. Most credits are accepted. If you have doubts just contact the school that you are getting these pre-req's or classes for and ask if they accept credits from SUNY.This way you know for sure.
  9. I am not sure of how to go about going to nursing school. I mean, I know that I want to be a RN. I would love to work in L&D. I know I must take pre-req's. But, should I become a CNA? Should I take Phlebotomy? I'm trying to have a job in the medical field for experience purposes, while going to school. Should I do LPN or RN? ASN or BSN? I currently live in Aiken, SC. I thought about attending Aiken Tech for nursing. Then I saw Augusta Tech. At Augusta Tech, you must take Health Care Assistant-certificate- before you can apply to the LPN program. I am fine with that. Should I take online classes for pre-req's? I am relocating to the Atlanta area next summer, if I don't get into the next LPN class. I am trying to be careful with the classes I take because I dont want to repeat any due to lack of credits, etc. I just want to make sure I am going towards the proper path to become a RN. I am not a spring chicken and I stalled long enough, which is only hurting myself because I really want to become a nurse. I'm tired of thinking I will fail. And besides TLC can only show you but so much, LOL. I won't know until I actually proceed in my quest. I'm looking for some opinions and ideas for a single mom trying to fulfill her dreams. And my kids are tired of watching TLC and Discovery Health with me....:redpinkhe
  10. Hi. I have not taken any classes online with SUNY. But my sister is a teacher and most of her friends have teaching degrees from SUNY ONLINE. If you don't mind me asking, what class are you going to take?

I feel the same way Kim. I'm worried about failing a class or test but you just have to put your best foot forward. One day I just said to myself, enough is enough and I need to get the ball rolling. I had a little set back because the college I attended in Florida was not accredited so I have do some of my classes over. So that was a major bummer. Now I have to start over. But keep your head up. You will do great!
