programs usually want your one year of experience to begin when you are off orientation.

all the programs i looked for required a BSN. you might need to recheck the programs you're looking at so you can plan accordingly if you need to.

agreed with above. for my application, my three letters consisted of a 1) nurse educator that i worked with during both my externship and residency program, 2) my dean who has written me LORs for scholarships before and 3) a coworked who oriented me to the unit. i didn't bother getting my manager because honestly, my manager has no clue of my clinical abilities. get LORs that will give the admission committee a great view on who you are.

you also need to go back for your BSN. it shouldn't be too hard since you probably filled up some prereqs from your prior degree at UCSD.

i didn't tell my colleagues until AFTER i got accepted into CRNA school. and even when i did tell my coworkers that i start this May, I have gotten very mixed messages. for the most part, they're proud of me. but a few are envious and it shows in how they treat me. i would say wait till you have a year of ICU under your belt and when you start the application process (IMO).
