  1. mz - I get this feeling too sometimes! instructors are not always the most qualified for teaching (bc in my opinion, this is what clinical is, not an exam). the point is to be able to show improvement, but they are not truly providing you an environment for that. if you have such weaknesses as she described in the email, she should have been spending time with you, TEACHING you these skills. It's amazing that nursing schools hire these people - they must be desperate. I had a bad experience this week with my instructor; but, I have this skill that you might want to steal - don't let it get to you :) I know it's a lot to ask, and when you feel your being picked on, it's hard to not fall under that treatment, but it's a tough world, and the only thing you can truly change at the end of the day is yourself. Speaking with the school dean may or may not create change, but you can worry about what YOU can do to move past this situation, and that's guaranteed. I honestly say this to help you - - I used to have a job where I felt picked on, and would end up in tears bc I thought I was being "sabotaged". my boss gave me the best advice ever - he brushed his shoulder off. seriously. best advice ever :)
  2. I'm really sorry to hear about your ankle - and here's my words of advice! Last summer, on memorial day, I broke my calcaneus - comminuted fracture - not pretty! I couldn't walk on it for 3 months. ALL SUMMER! So, my point is, it could have been worse. And, as someone said before, don't jeopardize your ankle's healing and function by walking on it early. You will regret it, even when you're financially stable, that you have a strange limp that aches horribly at the end of the day! It's a tough time for you, I know, but try to think of your situation long term. In a year's time, you're going to be FINE, both financially and physically :)
