Can person go into nursing field with STDS?
Is it true that a person can't become a nurse if they get fever blisters (HSV)??? I'd be shocked, but really would prefer to know before I go down this road. I just took a CNA class and they said nothing about it, even though I had a fever blister.

What was the hardest skill for you to learn?
I'm taking classes to become a CNA in FL, and was wondering what people think were the hardest skills to learn to do properly? Right now, I'm voting for manual BP.

Weekend CNA courses?
They have a couple of different locations, I'm going to the one in Pinellas Park, but they also have one in Tampa. Their website is www.beacna.com (I'm assuming it's okay to post links. If it's not and the link disappears, you can Google Florida Medical Prep Tampa and find them). There's other companies that offer similar programs too. This one works for me because they're about 5 minutes from my house and have classes at a time that works for me.

Weekend CNA courses?
I signed up to start the weekend class at FL Med Prep this coming weekend. It's a class to prep for the CNA test, and not the state certified 120 hour course (which isn't necessary in FL, but is suggested by some employers). I like that they also offer job placement assistance, and hope that it works out well.

Anyone working 2 jobs?
Hi all, I'm taking a CNA prep course and hope to get my CNA in a few weeks, and was wondering... Is anyone working a full-time position in another field and CNA either on a part time basis or as a second full timem job? I want to save as much $$ as I can so that I can survive financially when I take the plunge to go into nursing school (realistically, a couple of years out) and want to know if anyone else succeeded going this route? I don't have kids (just a dog) and am not married, so I won't be neglecting family by doing this. What do you guys think? Is it possible?

Tampa Bay CNA Courses - Evening and/or Weekend?
Jace, That's the one I originally went to that hasn't been updated since 2006, and when I called, they said that they haven't updated it since then, so unfortunately alot of the information (at least in this area) is outdated. I appreciate everyone's replies! I think I'm going to be taking the 2-weekend course they just posted at Florida Medical Prep in a couple weeks and then challenging the cert. test. Wish me luck! :)

Tampa Bay CNA Course Info anyone? :)
Hi everyone! I posted in the NA forum, but didn't get much response, so I'm hoping someone here can help. :) I'm considering becoming a CNA for experience while I'm saving up to go back to school to become a nurse. I checked the FL Board of Nursing website for CNA courses, but the most updated list of schools they have is from 2006, and it looks like many of the courses in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area are no longer in existence. Has any one recently taken CNA courses in the Tampa Bay area, and can you recommend a school or organization that offers them? PTEC only offers them in the daytime, and I need to do evening/weekend because I work full time. Also, do employers care where you went for the CNA prep courses, or do they mainly just look at whether you're certified? Any luck getting evening/night work? Any replies or advice would be very much appreciated!

No one knows of any courses in the Tampa Bay area? This is concerning.
