I'm hoping someone reads this and can help me out. I'm working on my compliance due by August 1st. I'm worried that my NJ license won't be up by that time, anybody having any issues with time for them?

That's the plan. I have a date where I can get all of my money back, so I will use that as the deadline. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Im avoiding buying all of my books, supplies, ect. for UAB's program until the very last minute, which is stressing me out!

Sounds good to me. I got my BSN at University of Maryland, Baltimore. Not the greatest GPA (3.2) but hopefully they look at the rest of the stuff too.... I have been accepted to University of Alabama's Dual PNP and AC-PNP program. That program starts next week (yikes!!!!) But I am really waiting out Penn in hopes that I get in. I work as a PICU nurse at CHKD in Norfolk, VA. Been here for 2 years and before that I worked in an adult CVT Step Down/ICU. Love working with kids far more than working with adults (smaller diapers). I just felt like Acute Care Peds was the next logical step for me. I love the inpatient setting and I love the critical thinking that comes with being in an ICU. One thing is for sure with kiddos, you never see the same thing twice!

Thanks! If it helps, in the beginning of my application process, I was told that getting/not getting an interview was not indicative of anything, and in past posts I found people who weren't offered an interview, but did get in. You might get in sooner than you think. Good luck! :)

So I actually got through to someone at admissions today. They told me that the committee is scheduled to meet both this coming week and the following week. I was told my application should be looked at then and my admissions decision should come sometime in the next two weeks.

I waited from December till March to get my interview. I wouldn't lose hope. I'm kinda stressing here too, but I guess sitting and waiting is all there is to do. Good Luck!

Have you contacted someone in your specific program? I feel like the admissions office is overwhelmed and maybe you can get a better idea of what's going on from a faculty member.

No admissions decision yet. I'm getting pretty anxious because I have another offer of admissions but am waiting on Penn. Hope to hear something soon!

I had my interview this morning. Fairly informal, but she did ask about professional organizations I belonged to, journals I had read, ect. She also asked about my leadership both in and outside of the workplace. Hope this helps!

Did you ever go to a UPENN open house? I am trying to think of questions to ask, but since I went to an open house, a lot of my questions were answered. I talked to someone from my program and am in the process of setting up an interview time. I am going to reread my essays and make sure that I am familiar with what I wrote 5 months ago. Any tips on questions to ask? Ill go through the website to see if I can find anything else, but they have a lot of information on line. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi all! I have looked around for another thread about MSN applicants for UPENN for 2015 but have only found the Dual BSN/MSN thread. Is anyone out there applying to the ersity of Pennsylvania for any of the 2015 semesters? I am applying for the Pediatric Acute Care: Critical Care concentration starting Summer 2015. My application just went "Ready for Review" status and now I am anxiously waiting to hear back about an interview (fingers crossed). Anybody out there in the same boat or had a similar experience? Ok thanks! 3 months? I might not make it! If you don't mind me asking, what was your GPA? I am just slightly stressed out because my application online has been submitted but still reads "Materials Needed" but all of my transcripts, letters of rec., ect have been submitted. I emailed them to find out if I needed to do something but haven't heard anything back. Thanks so much for your help!

I know this thread is old, but I am applying for Summer 2015 Peds Acute Care. Did any of you guys submit your GRE or go for the waiver? If you asked for the waiver, did you have to do anything specific? How long did it take for them to review your application and approve the waiver? I turned in my application at the beginning of December and am anxiously waiting for an interview. Thanks for youe help :-)

When I called to find out why I was not accepted, I was told that my GPA was a little lower than the average candidate (3.2) and that a little bit more experience would make me more competitive. At the time of my application I had about 8 months of Peds ICU experience and about a year of Adult CV Stepdown experience. (It would have been a year of Peds by the time the program started). So now I will have 2 years experience when the program starts and I also have some more things on my resume (joined a committee between our ED and ICU and became a preceptor.) Hopefully I get in but I don't have all my eggs in one basket this time. Of note, when I called and talked to CB, the program admissions coordinator, she told me that they always had far more applicants for the Fall semester than they do for the Summer semester start. So I hope that it works in our favor. Good luck!

HCA- I am trying to get a hold of the nurse recruiter in Richmond, VA and am having no luck. I want to get the process going, but have made multiple attempts at calling them and leaving a message without any call back. Any suggestions to get a recruiter to call back? A little bit of background on me, I am a Stepdown Cardio-Thoracic surgery nurse with 9 months experience. I wanted to get a year in before trying to get into the Navy. Suggestions?Thanks!
