I just moved to Boston from Baltimore. (2 yrs experience, BSN, OCN, academic hospital). I thought I would have had a problem finding an oncology job, but in the end, it was fairly easy. Be prepared, though: for as expensive as Boston is compared to Baltimore, the hourly rate is dismally low!!! Then again, you're probably much less likely to get shot and/or mugged walking to and from your place of employment. That's got to be worth something.

Hi all! I'm an RN with 2.5 years experience as an onc nurse at a major academic hospital in Baltimore (multiple chemotx and blood products, bone marrow transplant pts, pts on the precipice of MICU transfers at any time of the day, etc.) That being said, I'm definitely not a new grad. I'm relocating to Boston in August and am having a really difficult time even getting an interview for positions which I appear qualified. Does any one have any advice? I'm ONS-certified and I'm willing to do either onc or medsurg, but no replies yet. I'm getting nervous! :imbar I welcome any thoughts/advice. Thanks!
