  1. Hi all! After applying for the last 6 months, I finally accepted my first job! The reason it took sooo long was because I kept getting the 'need at least 6 months to 1 year experience' rejection. (so frustrating) Now that I will start orientation tomorrow, I am so nervous! I will be working in an outpatient clinic at a military facility. Good news is that I am prior service so I understand a lot of the military jargon. However, because I am a bit of an perfectionist, I am afraid that the moment I do not do something correctly or do not know something I will beat myself up about it and become discouraged. Anyone else out there like this? I need some advice. Oh! I forgot to mention something else; the postion was for someone that had at least 1 year experience. The nurse that interviewed me knows that I have no experience and decided to put in her recommendation for me to get the job anyway. So, I also feel like tremendous pressure to "shine" because my lack of experience was overlooked. Talk about pressure!!! I am feeling it and have not started yet!
  2. I am having a difficult time finding a job too.
  3. I HEAR YOU AND I AM FEELING YOUR FRUSTRATION!!!!!! I have been actively searching too and I am running into the same problem; experience needed. I have gotten so depressed about it, that sometimes I wonder if going to school was a mistake.
  4. Hey Mandi07! I know it is easier said than done, but hang in there, Chica! I took my test June 14th and got my results The Aug 1st! So, try to relax, I have been there waiting in agony! You will be so relieved when you get your paper when you read it and it says you passed!!!!
  5. sleepyinseattle: I had 189 questions and I passed and so will you!!!
  6. Congrats to all of us!!!! I got my results today too!!! I passed with 189 questions!!!!!
  7. I got my results today! I passed!!!!!!! I am so happy and relieved.
  8. Congrats Element06! I thought I would add to this thread. I took my test June 14th and have not received my results yet. I called BVNPT on Monday and was told that they were just starting to do the week I took my test. I wonder if they told me that so that I would not call them back.
  9. Update: Got a call from my school. They asked me if I had gotten my results yet. I told them no and they told me to make sure I give them a call when I get them so that they can pay for my license. I was told that the school gets the results from the BON so I hope them calling me is a good thing. Anyway, still waiting!!!
  10. It is frustrating. Well, I will let you know if I hear something. let me know if you hear something too.
  11. Hi All! It has been 5 weeks since I took the NCLEX-PN in California and have not gotten my results back yet! I am trying to be as patient as possible but this past week I have been nervous every evening when I got home from work only to have junk mail and catalogs waiting for me! The first 2 days after I took the test, I felt like I was going to lose my mind. I was freaking out and was wondering how I was going to keep myself together during the long waiting period I was going to face. Now, 5 weeks later, I feel like I am starting to go back to that emotional state. My fellow classmates have gotten theirs already so it is just me waiting now. Just thought I would get that out. Thanks ahead of time for reading this!
  12. Thank you so much guys! Between you guys and my friends that went through it with me and my family, I truly feel blessed to have this kind of support. I have made up my mind to claim what I worked for and not to worry about it. I just have to wait for my passing letter in the mail!!!
  13. I took the test today. It stopped at 186. I don't know what to think of that. I swore the questions were getting harder. My friends had their tests stop at 85 and I know where it stops does not mean anything as far as passing or failing but I am still wondering why so many questions? Then I thought about how I asked God to keep the questions coming if needed in order for me to pass. Now, I am going to try not to stress about it after today because it is over, and I know I did my best. I just don't want to take it again! You know?!! Plus, in the state I live in, I cannot get "unofficial results" so I have to wait a month!!!! Talk about a test of faith! Whew!!!
  14. I am really just looking for some words of encouragement!!! I have come a looooong way!!! However, feeling nervous about the test because (1) my paperwork for the background check ended up being submitted a month later than my class; it was sitting on the secretary's desk for 4 weeks because she got the flu (2) it took me 3 tries to finish; the first time I had to drop out because I got a divorce, the second time I got rear ended on the freeway on my way to the first day of school and ended up spending months in physical therapy, (3) I am afraid that I have not studied enough; I worked 2 jobs and went to school; I quit 1 job when I finished just so I could have more time to study but has not worked out that way. My 3 "girls" from school have all taken and passed their tests. Just hoping that I am not worrying myself to the point that I will fail. Labs and Pharm have been my weakest points but I don't feel like I can retain anymore. Please if you believe in God, pray for me!! If you don't say something encouraging anyway!!!! Thanks!!!
