Techniques!!! I was like, what is Tech-ni-quest?!?!? LOL I think I just studied the study guide. We had several people that did different parts of it. That helped a lot.

FCCJ Fall 2008
My first day was awesome! I am so lucky to have the classmates I have. I'm sure everyone is awesome, most of the people I meet are. I just think my class is so tightknit and we are always there for each other. I totally love you guys!

FCCJ Fall 2008
Yeah, but it is sort of last minute. I want to do this with every test possible. I have already sent out a bunch of stuff that people have sent me. If anyone wants the stuff I have, I'll send it to ya if you PM me your email.

FCCJ Fall 2008
Well, I'll PM you guys my fccj email. I should be getting Unit 1 done tonight sometime (probably late, lol). I'll send it to you guys once it is done. My friend is getting Unit 2 done. So if one of you chooses Unit 3 and the other Unit 4, then we just need two more people.

FCCJ Fall 2008
I'm gonna try to start something that I've heard a lot of 3rd and 4th termers suggest. They say to get a group together of people who will do part of each chapter/unit objectives. Everyone can exchange the study guides made from that and that way it is less work. I think I;m starting to get how much that can really help. Now I just gotta get some other people to do it with me!

FCCJ Fall 2008
I don't know why I am still up this late! I was hoping there were some powerpoints for techniques tomorrow, but I don't see any. Maybe we will just study??? I'm totally in a studying slump, I've been sick the past couple of days and my energy is gone. I'm gonna start taking some stuff my doctor gave me, so maybe that'll help. (If he is not just a quack.)

FCCJ Fall 2008
Yeah, Concepts always ends up giving me headaches. By the time I am out of there I have a headache and I still have at least 5 hours before I can go home. I don't think it would be so bad if everything wasn't always getting messed up. I don't see how the teachers can get mad when we get upset. This is our future, we have all sacrificed, worked hard and paid a lot of money to get to where we are. We don't want it just handed to us, but we need a fighting chance.

FCCJ Fall 2008
I have so much to do. I need to learn how to tell people no! I just feel so behind on everything, but then I tell myself that everyone else probably feels this way too. Oh, I can't make the studying. I have to go to St. Augustine tomorrow (for most of the day), plus I am flat broke and fat girls hate being in food places with no money!

I love it how you say "done" like the work part is over. Going to classes is just the easy part for me, lol!

I liked Pharm, but it seems like it will be a lot of studying. I really thought it was interesting how some many things can influence how a drug works. I somehow never thought of it that deeply before. Like I thought of body weight being an issue, but not age, ect...

FCCJ Fall 2008
Ok, it's 10pm and I've finally finished reading those 3 chapters for concepts. They were horribly boring, but I figure that's the way the first few chapters usually are. Just a couple of syllabi, lecture schedules and powerpoints to read before I can get started on those 6 chapters for Wednesday's Pharm! I guess I won't have a life anymore, but that's ok.... I have ya'll, my husband and my pets. Just please let me know if I start talking to people as if they were my pets.

just like on page 6, it says "all decimals must have a zero before the decimal point examples: 0.1 is written correctly, 0.2 is written incorrectly and will be graded as wrong- please be careful" now how is 0.2 written incorrectly. have they ever heard of proof reading! maybe they should "be careful". has anyone else noticed this or am i dumber then i thought?!?!? i mean it makes me wonder about the rest of the answers for the all the independent studies. i don't want to have to check the "right" answers all the time.:heartbeat i have noticed those things too. it is hard to believe that books can have these kinds of mistakes when we pay so much for them.

I finished my Dosage Calc last night but I need to study the other stuff. I imagine I'll figure out how to get that done soon. I printed the syllabi at work. OMG!! that was long.

I totally went to the beach tonight! It was awesome! We left when there were three green flashes in the sky. The waves were so strong!! I can't even count the amount of times I was knocked off my feet. Lots of fun, but we definately had to leave before it got too bad. I'm trying to do as much fun stuff as I can before everything, but I guess it is studying time now!!

FCCJ Fall 2008
Okay yall, check your mail please! How about they changed the schedules!! How is this fair? I would have picked a different section if I had the choices of what they have now. The weird thing is that section 11 didn't change at all!

FCCJ Fall 2008
im almost done with med calc, have to do chapter 13, but im having a hard time getting into med term....bunch of memorization! sucks, but im trying to get as much done as possible because when classes start im sure they will give us more to do ya know! I was told by a 4th termer that they all split up the studying into parts for each person in their study group. I'm not so sure I could restrain myself that way, I'm sure she meant that each person learned that part well enough to teach the others. I was thinking that maybe each person could choose part of a chapter to make notecards for. Then when we study together, we can just share but we've cut the workload down a lot.

Yeah, I liked the MRSA too. OK, I just love all of them! It was kind of cool that they were saying that doctors requested that they make certain ones for educational purposes.

Hey you guys! I just wanted to share this website with ya'll. This is just another part of my big, nursing dorkyness. http://www.giantmicrobes.com/ Just the cutest thing ever! I have the one called flesh eating disease. I've always wanted to collect these, but I've only ever gotten one. I should send the link to my family again before Christmas, lol. I really want Ebola, it's my favorite so far!

Bossladii - Nothing in this life is easy. It was just like when I was in classes last Fall and my Dad died. I didn't want to be alive, but I focused on my school. I just told myself that I was sick of failing when the going got tough. And I didn't want to let him take this away from me along with all of the lost hopes and dreams of him ever being well and being a good dad to me. All I did was sleep, work and go to school. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but at the end of the semester I got an A in A&P2 and a B in PSY and a new found sense of self respect. I did exactly what you described. I just focused and worked on one thing at a time. Ever since then, classes have been easy. I just tell myself it couldn't have been harder than that. I'm so proud you've pushed through the muck!

We will all be in the same classes, we will be studying with each other, so there's all kinds of ways we can work out the books. If Sharon is there at the North Campus when you go up there, try to talk to her. I had a friend once tell me that she is the best person when it comes to financial aid. Plus, she's also an advisor. Every problem has a solution, we can all get creative. We could always try to raise money with a car wash!
