  1. I was recently hired into an ED as a part-time RN, evening shifts. I was also told that I will have to work two winter holidays. I have been orienting on the unit for three days and the new schedule has come out. Most of my shifts are starting at 0830. This will not work for my family situation and does not really seem like an evening shift to me. Also I am scheduled for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new Years Eve, all twelve hour shifts. I want to talk to my manager but do not want to seem like a trouble maker just starting the job. ADVICE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
  2. Some of my pet peeves are lack of punctuation, and incorrect synonyms, such as "they're, their, there", and "two, to, too". "Loose" instead of "lose" is not an error of synonym, but just a plain old spelling error (and yes, it bugs me). I also can't stand "would of" instead of "would have". Another one that bothers me is the misuse of "a" or "an". For instance, it's "an RN", not "a RN". Hi everyone! Synonyms are words that have the same meaning. For example, happy and glad are synonyms. Homonyms are words that have different meanings but sound the same. An example of homonyms would be "to, too, and two."
