Some doctors let that "God Complex" go to their heads.

Hello everyone. I'm a bit concerned and confused about whether to wear a protective gown and mask. I come in contact with a lot of cidex, urine and other bodily fluids. I mentioned to my boss that I should be wearing a gown and mask when doing procedures, mixing BCG and that the BCG should be mixed under a hood which is how I was trained. To make a long story short, here is an MD telling me particularly with the cystoscopies and BCG that I don't have anything to worry about. This goes against everything I trained. By the way I'm a Medical Assistant not a Nurse. Do I trust my boss or go with my instinct and training and cover up?

I to am 39 and currently working as a MA in urology but my plans are to get my BSN and maybe my NP. If you have a dream, never let anyone or anything stand in your way. You never want to look back and ask "what if?". I need to take my own advice. Good luck.
