UAB ACNP Fall 2016
Hello! I applied for the FNP Program for the Fall 2016. I couldn't find a FNP thread, so this will do, I suppose. I have 5 years of nursing experience, all in the Critical Care setting. I spent 2 years as an ICU Nurse and have spent the last 3 years of my career as my hospital's Rapid Response Nurse. Good luck to everyone in your respective programs!

FCCJ Fall 2008
That sounds like a great idea. I'm in it with you, if you want to do it. I've brought this up plenty of times with the people in my class, but none want to do it. LoL. Just let me know if this is a go.

I dont know what the crap is going on with those Health Assessment tests, but it would not be fair if they counted those grades. The class/session with the professor who made the test has a gigantic advantage over the other 6 classes because of course, that teacher knows the material. Get what I'm saying? I'm only assuming that she also teaches HA, which is a big assumption; seeing that the Pharm Coordinator teaches, well you guessed it, PHARM. Good luck to all of you with the IV Calc test on Monday!

FCCJ Fall 2008
Yeahh... I didnt appreciate the skills kit too much. All of their selections were non-masculine. LoL. I picked the most masculine one, if that's even possible and my mom laughed at me. Hahaha. So I bought a drawstring backpack and put everything in there, and gave the bag to my sister. LoL.

FCCJ Fall 2008
I have a question for you all... Is there a pen light that comes with the skills kit? I got this pink thing that looks like a flashlight, so I cancelled my penlight order. LoL. Please help me... I'm hurtin'. LoL.

Hahaha. So is it not done? Do we have classes tomorrow? LoL. Jk. I really enjoyed the first week, however. I met some awesome people, and I look forward to meeting even more awesome peeps. The loud, outspoken ones are my favorites. LoL.

I found a new job... EBAY! So far so good. LoL. The only thing I do is list the item and people bid, which means I do nothing. LoL. Anyway, I have Pharmacology tomorrow... How was it for those who had it already?

Clinical Techniques was LONNNNGGGG. Oh goodness. But for some weird, crazy, and ridiculous reason, I liked it. Uh ohhhhh. LoL.

FCCJ Fall 2008
Hello there. My name's Bryan and I like long walks on the beach.... Just kidding. The girl I'm dating FORCES me to go on those. LMAO. I'm in Section 14, so Hannah, we're going to be in the same place. =) They still havent posted the Syllabus for HealthAssessment for my class, I assume. The listed courses are only Nursing Concepts and Pharmacology. Ahh well, I'll wait til tomorrow. G'night! See some of you around tomorrow! Oh yeah, when's our first All-Nurses study day?

FCCJ Fall 2008
Welcome! I like the math part, actually. Weird, but relief to me. That handbook is confusing. What all are the pages we need to know? I read through everything just in case. LoL. And also... I spent my last free day in Orlando today. Oh yeahhhh. "Calm before the storm." Haha.

FCCJ Spring 2008
If you don't have scholarships to pay for your books, it will cost about $1000 for your first semester alone. Killer in the butt, yes... But you'll get that money back once you start working. Congrats to all that got in! I'm about to start in 3 days. YIKES.

FCCJ Fall 2008
LMAO! HAHAHAHA. Was the place hard to find? I thought it was $62? Oh geez.

FCCJ Fall 2008
I have a couple of questions: A. When do we need our skills kit? And how long did it take to get it after you ordered it? B. When do we need our uniforms? I still do not have mine. C. Megan, are you a CNA at Baptist? Sorry.. Inquiring mind here. This storm is bringing out the impatient side of me. LoL.

FCCJ Fall 2008
Thanks Michael. I actually found a new job online... EBAY! =) I saw that they changed some of the schedules. I think the ones they changed were the TBAs, as they probably found professors. IDK about the time, since I disregarded the others not in Section 14. Bahhhh. Hurricane/TS Fay. I cant go to Orlando since its storming. Crap. Anyone tried out the iclickers?

FCCJ Fall 2008
I'm currently in the library, printing out all that stuff on the Community Boards [except for the LPN Stuff], and this library lady/worker tells me that I can only print 15 pages. I looked at her with a slight grin and said, "This stuff's for nursing school, and I'm paying for it [sorta, not really] so why not?" She replies, "Oh really? Can I have your stuff once I get in?" Interesting, interesting. The trick to these machines is that you have to print 15 pages at a time. You go 16, and they don't print. Oh yeah, and don't do them at North Campus either. Cecil is the best to go because there's barely anyone here. ONE MORE WEEK UNTIL OUR LIVES DISINTEGRATE! =D

Awesome, Melanie! You're going to do it... I know it.

FCCJ Fall 2008
Sheesh... I dont get on for a day and I miss four pages. Gosh. First and foremost, Melanie... Please do not give up. You have gone much too far to give up now. I am sure that if you go up to North and Worksource and tell them your story that they will have some sort of heart to try and work something out. You have shelled out so much money for your stuff, all the shots, titers, physicals, blah blah. If the worksource does not work out, then I would be more than happy to help you with the copying of the pages of the book. They say do not go to the North Campus library to print stuff, so why not Kent, South, or Downtown? I'm sure they dont mind. LoL. Bottomline, you're facing a problem that everyone will probably face in some point in their lives. It may not be to the same extent, but it sure would be in terms of the magnitude of the problem. Persevere, my friend, and you won't believe the outcome. Good luck! And hope to see you soon.

FCCJ Fall 2008
Congrats to the ladies who received the Worksource stuff. I was at Charleston, South Carolina today on a roadtrip with my buddies, and I just got home a few seconds ago. I looked at my caller ID and I didnt get anything, so I guess I didnt get approved? I guess I'm going to call Mary Ann tomorrow and ask. BLAHHH. I picked up my Dosage and Calc and Med Terminonolgy Stuff today, along with the iclicker. I got a $500 scholarship from some funds stuff, and I decided to pick up an Anatomy book as well. I'm hoping to sell that on Amazon or something and hope to get a couple hundred dollars, seeing as if Worksource only will refund the difference. Hmmmmm... If it doesnt work, I'll just return the Anatomy book and say I didnt need it. LoL.

FCCJ Fall 2008
This sucks balls. I'm getting some books today because I need it. Anyway, I'm going on a South Carolina Roadtrip, which would entitle me 4 hours of studying. Haha.
