congratulation to loveactually. you are successful just by taking the exam, you never fail unless you give up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbwk5lrytdq my nurse partner may be returning to sacramento live. i was there two weeks ago and i will be returning to be in their face. my nurse partner had a job working in a hospital until the board of nursing in ca had her fired because they claim our nursing school was not great. i took the nursing nclex-pn in another state only after act of god by prayers and passed it within 30 minutes. even to this day, i believe this is why some states are just blessed, even hurricanes have to make a detour. my nurse partner and i still believe that sacramento even to this date still discriminates the training, encouraging and the hiring of african american born nurses. so what happen if opra winfrey shows up in sacramento with my nurse partner to be up in their face also. so just congrats to all of the nurses that were allow to take the nclex-rn.

Thanks for your research Madwife2002. Several students and I wanted to take the RN NCLEX and was denied by California. I was a trained in the US and had I already had a BS Degree in Economics. We were denied taking the LVN exam in California 1989 after we completed our LVN SCHOOL PROGRAM and paid our $10,000. The reason was that our school lost it's accrediation THREE months AFTER we completed our nursing program. There were other students that did not complete the program. Of the 62 students that started with me, 11 of us that completed the program we were told that we would never be able to pass the LVN nursing exam. I notice this rule did not apply to all students. Our names sent to 50 states not to let us take the any NURSING exams(LPN

good luck dazy777, i wrote california to challenge the boards, and i got a real nasty letter back. i did not pay it any attention. when i went to nursing school to be a lvn in california they closed it down after we finished the program. our names were put on a blacklist to inform other states not to let us take the lvn/lpn exams. 1989. but i some of us prayed about it, and one state let me take the exam, if i would go to a review and i did. i passed the first time. there are hospitals now that have a severe shortage of nurses, however they are not hiring lvn/lpn. the ones that do hire lvn/lpns are requiring them to do rn work with lpn/lvn pay. lvn/lpn need to be aware of this practice. if we work as rns, then we need to be paid as rns and the state(s) need to let lpn/lvns challenge the board. some hospitals are not even hiring lvns/lpns anymore so a couple of lvn/lpns took their denial letters to the unemployment office. there is are several hospitals near me and one in walking distance, yet everytime i go they claim they are not hiring lvns, yet i see about 20-30 job openings for rns, and about 2 for lvn. i still plan to finish a rn within the next year.

Atleast you got a chance to take the test. Just focus and possibly take a RN referesher course and the Kaplan. Im almost 58 years old, and Im lucky to be an LVN, our school was shut down by CA Board after we graduated and the board refuse to let us take the NECLEX-PN. 1989. I passed it only after I petition to take it in another state. Now I still believe I can pass the Neclex-RN by petition. (HOWEVER WHAT TOOK place in the Fall 1989 will be repeated FALL 2008, for me to take the NECLEX-RN.)

It is great that you go back while your young. When I started nursing school as an LVN in Ca. The nursing board closed down our school, after we graduated. There were 11 of the 62 students left. Our names were put on a list not to let us take any exams in any other state. (FALL 1989) But I prayed, and many church people prayed, and I found a state that let me take the test.GEORGIA. I took the test,(NCLEX-PN) and I think it took me less than an hour. I passed it. I transferred my GA license to California. I did not work as a LVN until 2002. Im 57, and will be 58 years old, and I am more determined now then I was back in 1989 to get an RN(AS) by the time I am 60 years old. I did not let anyone or anything STAND in my way. Even if earthquakes sunk the whole westcoast, I was determined to finish and ImStillStanding.
