  1. Although quite convenient, drawing blood from a PICC is not worth the possible damage it can cause to the PICC. Most MD's here in New York do not write orders for such a lab draw.
  2. I am with you! I was an EMT CC and now am an RN. THERE IS NO COMPARING the two!
  3. After working in a hospital for 3 years I switched over to home infusion nursing and have been doing it for 9 years. I too am a cancer survivor as it has been 15 years this month. My best advice to you all is to get as much IV experience you possibly can and then seek employment in an infusion agency as I did. Good luck!
