  1. Is anybody attending the BSNExpress program welcome this Thursday?
  2. Haha, well they are not recognized or accredited by the Department of Education (which is scary), but Villanova will let you take some prereqs there-- but it definitely depends on the course. I was allowed to take Pathophys, Developmental Psych, and Religion there-- but only ended up going with pathophysiology through them. I wasn't allowed to take any anatomy classes since they are very important, and I think Villanova recognizes that they aren't the most reliable program around! Check with one of the program directors for more info! :)
  3. yeah, I'm going to have to take out a loan to cover the full cost...I should be okay for living expenses, since I'm working full-time right now and I've been saving up. My undergraduate loans are insane, so it's a good thing I'm able to defer them while I'm in school again!
  4. Yeah, through Canyon College!
  5. Hmmm...yeah, when I interviewed Dr. Mariani told me the basic schedule of classes/clinic, and it seemed like everybody in BSNExpress was in class during the day a few days a week, and then clinicals were chosen by the staff (you get a preference, but they end up deciding). I think the alternate sequence is part-time and may be at night...
  6. I really liked to hear what the students were saying about Villanova, vs. what the students were saying about Jeff...I talked to a few people in the Jeff program who said although overall they were happy, it was really disorganized and chaotic as far as class and clinical schduling went at times. I also fell in love with Villanova's facilities (their new nursing school is AMAZING), and felt that a 14 month program would be a better fit for me!
  7. What do you mean by day or evening session? I thought the night sessions were for the other program (alternate sequence curriculum?)...not sure though! I didn't get my info packet yet!
  8. congrats! I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia (greater northeast) with my boyfriend, so I will be commuting to Villanova (mostly by car, possibly by train some of the time). How about you?
  9. Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the wait time...they originally told me mid-December, and I imagine with all of the people they have to interview (I think everybody who applied automatically is interviewed if I'm not mistaken), they may even fall behind on the admissions committee decisions. I have three more pre-reqs to take (Pathophysiology online, Developmental Psych, and a religion credit), and I'm definitely not looking forward to starting class again in January! haha
  10. How did your interview at Villanova go? I was actually really nervous after mine, because it wasn't an interview at all in my case...it was more of a question/answer session for me haha. She only asked me about my job, and explained the curriculum. I wasn't really sure how to judge whether or not I was accepted!
  11. I interviewed on the 4th too, with Dr. Mariani! Try not to get too anxious waiting, I only found out this soon because I had to let Jefferson know whether I wanted to send a deposit in by the end of November. Good luck!
  12. Hey guys! I just wanted to start this thread for any students accepted into the Villanova BSN Express program starting May 2009!
  13. For all of you who have received an acceptance... Do we send a deposit somewhere? My letter said they would send me a welcome packet by March, but nothing in my acceptance letter said anything about sending something in?
  14. I was accepted a couple of days ago into Villanova's program...it's my first choice, I'm so excited!!
  15. So I have a dilemma! I have my Jefferson acceptance, but the deposit is due by December 3rd...I had my Villanova interview on November 4, and they said I would hear back from them in the beginning of December. Do I suck it up and pay the 200.00 to Jeff (just in case), and lose the money if I am accepted to Villanova (first choice)? Or do you think I could email the director and explain my situation at either school?
  16. I doubt it's possible...you need Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 (6-8 credits), and you have one term (spring) to get these courses done. Villanova accepts transfer credits from a lot of schools (community colleges, some online programs, etc), but their prereq list is LONG! Their list would potentially have you taking up to 34 credits at once, which is super expensive and not allowed by most schools (or at least any admissions counselor in their right mind would tell you not to do it!). Canyon College online is accepted by Villanova, which is surprising because they aren't accreditted by the Department of Education! Anyways, I emailed the director from Villanova who told me to take Pathophysiology, Dev Psych, and Religion from here but NOT to take Anatomy and Physiology-- take it somewhere else. Just my two cents...but if you haven't taken any of the prereqs yet, then enroll this spring in a few classes, and get them knocked out to apply for May 2010!
  17. Congrats, Tashe! How was the interview process? My interview is scheduled for Friday (Halloween!)...were you just asked the normal questions (why nursing, etc)?
  18. Hey Guys, Does anybody know if they have you come in the night before to get patient info for clinicals at Villanova? I think it's Drexel's program that has you come in the night before, and I wasn't sure if Villanova was the same way!
  19. I had my interview with Niki today and was accepted on the spot! I'm still going to wait to hear from Villanova before I decide for sure on Jeff, but I'm just happy and relieved to be accepted somewhere (and into a great program!). Congrats to everybody else too!
  20. I applied to Jeff's FACT program, Villanova, and probably Drexel (although I haven't filled out the application yet). I missed UPenn's deadline, but I probably wouldn't have applied anyways (didn't want to take the GRE!)
  21. Hi! I'm submitting my Villanova BSNExpress app tomorrow, I just found out about the program and went to the open house the other night...I'm REALLY impressed with the new nursing school, and I think Villanova is my new #1 choice! :heartbeat
  22. Hey guys, What should I expect at the Jeff interview? Is it really formal, or pretty laid-back?
  23. I would be patient, I didn't get a phone call until the end of the day yesterday so I think they are still processing stuff!
  24. I got an interview request today! Apparently they are running a little behind, and are not done with all the apps... :)
