Hello Everyone! I was just wondering if anyone knew the starting salaries for a new ADN grad in the broome county area? vestal/binghamton area. I know there are 3 hospitals just in the binghamton area alone.. Thanks so much!!!!

1. never enough time for studying, care plans, practicing skills, studying for tests 2. time away from everything else (friends, spouses, family) 3. the headgames clinical instructors play with you and biting your tongue

its hilarious that a couple of weeks ago i asked my boyfriend to get me finding nemo out of the blue and now i see you all quoting it. must have been something subliminal. my mantra is, my mom 4 days before she passed((she was an RN), telling the nurse in the hospital who was drawing bloods "teach my daughter everything you know because she is going to be a nurse someday..." that was 6 years ago..i just got into the program in september.

I am wondering if in my school, they will do the same. we have a couple of students who really dont put in the time nor the effort. they show up to class late, don't come to clinical prepared. it is extremely frustrating to those who actually want to be here and are working their butts off. it is also annoying because the professors will waste their time with these students who did not come prepared. this past week in clinical my instructor stated she was going to pair up the "weak with the strong" well that was me and i got the weakest of them all. this student did not come to clinical prepared with his hw. ended up (like he does everyweek) looking over at someone elses hw for the answers. this student still did not know how to talk to a patient. really did not know how to do a bed bath. all the while i was basically asked to assist him. how can you assist someone who obviously has not been practicing or studying? that was the most frustrating. up until this point i have ignored all of those who obviously don't take the program seriously enough. but its extremely hard when you are asked to partner up with them for that reason. thanks for letting me vent. :typing

Hey everyone- Well we are getting quite close aren't we? i was wondering if anyone was going to buy a pda? does nassau even allow them? are they worth it? i have never used a digital recorder and i'm looking for some suggestions and if you think they are helpful in the program. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you at the orientation!!!!!!!

Congrats to everyone who was accepted. I was accepted as well for Fall 2008 and i'm soo excited. I got Glen Cove hospital which i'm happy with. Any advice would be appreciated!!! Looking forward to meeting all of my classmates!!!!!
