I'd like to hear from them as well... seeing how my file has been at the school now for over 3 weeks and waiting, due to what they say is a "full" class list for july (and possibly august). therefore im curious WHERE all these admitted students are??? lol I really want to start by august but am waiting....

haha that's too funny.. i HATE the lipodissolve/mesothereapy procedure. its painful as all hell too. haha they hire alot of nurse practioners too. well im happy to hear you went and put yourself out there with an interview. that's great. So what was your take on it? Different right?

its a little late and i just re-read my last post. whooops, alot of typo's that lead to wrong info. sorry about that. i meant that laser hair removal is a non invasive procedure, not an example of invasive. so sorry, hope it didnt confuse. i tried to edit the post but the site wouldnt let me.

in the aesthetic industry "invasive" is a term used for lasers that have require healing after the procedure, or what is referred to as "down time". Laser hair removal is an example of that. You are thinking of yag type lasers, among others that do dermal damage to achieve the after affect. Diode lasers (which the most affective laser hair removal lasers are) are considered NON invasive. RN's are used for vein removal, skin tightening treatments, all injectables, etc. Different med spa's and physicians offices use different manufacturers lasers, however once you learn the basic knowledge of the industry you easily learn new equipement and procedure protocals. Its the initial knowledge that is so valuable and ...... easier to get if you can simply get your foot in the door (the obvious hard part-lol) Good luck and if i can refer u somewhere, im happy to. :-)

My last post on Everest was actually about the Southfield location. They just started offering the lpn program at sthfld that's why it probably doesnt advertise it just yet. I went there for their information session on the lpn program. All the info i wrote of(cost) is current and accurate of their LPN program. The next class starts in september and you can simply call their southfield campus and ask for the lpn program dept. You can make an appt to go in for information or wait for their next group lpn orientation, which i believe is in a couple weeks. Call them at Southfield and they'll give you some info on phone as well as make you an appt. Only thing, if i didnt mention it already, is they are COSTLY- but if you work or have the ability to pay a monthly pmt (hundreds of dollars a month) after grants & nwlb funds.. then they are a quick alternative to waiting for the local community colleges (if you dont qualify for the detroit program) depends what your situation is and your needs lastly, check on some other threads on everest on here as well, i saw some that may give you more info on the actual school...

(just a side note -lol) I went to an orientation at everest 2 weeks ago (as back up to the detroit program just in case) and it sounded like a great excellerated program, however the cost was too much for me. Its starts at over $27,000 then they brake it down with the $4k grant and then federal loans (if you qualify - which i dont) and then there is still the $16k left over that you mentioned. So its not for me, but if you guys out have the funds or abililty to finance that... the everest program in southfield seemed great!! One more note to help with everest... they DO accept the No worker Left Behind funds offered thru Macomb and Oakland counties (only - Not detroit residents though), so that could help you out if you fit under that area. Lastly Everest is taking students for their September program right now so call them if you are interested and want a quick start, quick finish.

I am in the "jump threw hoops" phase right now ;-) lol but i believe at the final part of it and hoping to get accepted into the program in the next few weeks (KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED - you never know what restriction might come up that i dont know about yet -lol) But i do love everyone at the Milwaukee center that ive come into contact with thus far.. Absolutley.... If you want to apply somewhere in Vegas right after getting licensed, I have a place for you to try. The place also happens to have locations in Cali, so if you worked there (and like it) you could always put in for a transfer when you decide to move to Cali. Message me and i'll give you details....

That isnt necessarily true... RN's are very much in demand to do MEDICAL procedures (ie injectable & invasive procedures). Aestheticians only do the NON invasive procedure, not what you are stating. Also, the med spa companies in Illinois that im familiar with pay ALOT more than $10hr to aestheticians and the RN's are paid over $30.... hence the reason they dont waste the RN's time to be doing laser hairremoval procedures and facials when that can be done by the aestheticians (NONinvasive) and the RN's can concentrate on procedures like nonablative facial laser treatments, botox, fillers, vein therapy's.. etc etc. As a matter of fact, i just saw a couple HELP WANTED ad's on craigslist for RN's in chicago - none of which were requiring previous aesthetic experience. Take my word for it --- if you want to get in this side of the industry you just need confidence, a great personality, a promoting type sales ability and drive. Good luck:redbeathe

You guys seemed to get ALOT more info than i did at the initial seminar. I believe i DO qualify, but i cant afford to put all the time into doing their steps if im going to not make it in this fall. Its a time issue with me so i cant afford to waste anymore... Does anyone know the TIME FRAME into getting in?? And how can i light a fire under their a__'s ;-) in order to get this ball rolling. Its been 3 weeks since i went to the seminar and i took the test and now they are "trickling" info to me saying "you need to bring your diploma" - I HAVE TO ORDER THAT (3-4WEEKS) CUZ I MISPLACED MINE. Just a bunch of little misc things that i want to know ALL UP FRONT so that i cant hurry and get it all and move forward. Anyone out there able to give me a TO DO LIST to help me out. feel free to just private message me if easier. thanks soooo much

Youre experience seems ideal for this industry... Go check the employement websites and find who's hiring in your area. After doing that, go to their website and learn about what procedures they do. Once your familiar and you find one that fits what you desire... APPLY!!! The larger companies (national ones) all have in house training, so your experience and "sales" ability at the interview is all you need to get the job you want. My only advice is start part time, so you can see if YOU will like it! ALSO, by keeping your hair position, you can show (at the interview) that you have a "clientelle" following and an avenue to PROMOTE their med services... THEY LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THAT!!! ;-) good luck

nancy, youre currently an RN? have u thought about applying at a medspa? perhaps maybe just part time? some of the big ones will train you. ive done some work with two of the large ones out there in Cali, i can give you some inside tips on them :wink2: if you want to apply to either one of them. let me know.

Wow, I think you really took my comment out of contents! As i said, i was not trying to be negative, i was only saying you should research COST of this line of business before making the leap or any small investment for that matter. I was speaking to you to assist, not be negative. Please reread my comment, but this time knowing that i truely meant it as constructive help, nothing as you thought ("quick to give us all a slap in the face"???? no clue where you got that from!!) Again, i apologize if you took my info out of context and i hope you have done as successfully as you say and more success to you in the future. btw- my "advice" as you quoted it is usually appreciated as is the advice i recieve from nurses that know more about their skills than i do. i was just doing what this forum was meant to do --- communicate & help one another based on our knowledge. yikes i just noticed that their lpn program is over $17k!! wow... lets keep looking for some other programs, shall we? lol

I went to the 1st orientation. It was basic, i didnt get alot of info, But i just took the tabe test and they told me to wait for a call back, but no info on what steps to take to move the process along. So i called and found out I have to turn in all this documentation (dipoma, financials, etc) before they'll make my next appt (i wish they wouldve told me that, i wouldve turned it all in when i took the tabe test last fri!!!) I feel like im in the dark with the steps and because of it, this process is going to take forever and im desperate to get into their next program. PLEASE HELP!! Can you guys who have gone thru this process give me a brake down on what the steps are so i can get on it and accelerate my admsission into this lpn program please? Feel free to message me if you'd like or just post a reply. Lastly how long from 1st orientation to final step did it take for you guys and did you get into the NEXT program after completion of all the required admission steps? Thanks for letting me know.
